We traded 2 assets and ended up with 1.

We lose this trade. Trading the 4th you acquired doesn't make it 2 assets. We lost a roster player and a pick to gain back the roster player to free up cap space that was going to be freed up at the end of the season anyway.

It's a horrible trade that makes no sense.

I just hope to god he's even slightly better than Sobotka.

It was a three way trade essentially

Montreal sent a 4th to Calgary
Buffalo sent Scandella to Montreal
Calgary sent Frolik to Buffalo

One asset in and one asset out for all three teams.

You may need to repeat that a few times for some of the hardheads around here!

Hes here for 40 games and then he is gone.
The Sabres have no business resigning him. I’d rather a 10 point young kid over a 32 year old who’s going to fade extremely quickly.

Also what do you mean by protect our good players. If you mean fight or stick up for guys, Frolik is not that player, at all

- ImThatGuy

Has been in the past
I admittedly have watched him much the past year or 2

If he helps, cool
If not, we gave up Scandella... nbd

No I haven't put down the Bong. Never said I would do it, but if you want to get good players sometimes you have to give up good players. And that is a position of some strength in the organization, especially with what is coming up through the system
- Buff36

So trade some of the other guys from the perceived strength. Look at the great teams. They generally have a 1) superstar center 2) superstar D man 3) an elite finisher 4) hot/good goalie. I urge you (not that you have any control) to not trade Dahlin because 1) right now, you’d be getting $.75 on the dollar 2) he’s a corner stone you build around, not trade for what can only be perceived as a lesser corner stone due to #1

Good post, but 11 goals out of a 1st overall pick , a year a a half in....... patience I guess.

Not a player currently propelling his team forward. Really offensively or defensively

Scandella is S

Frolik is F

the pick is 4

S = 4

F = 4

4 > Frolik = Scandella

It basically comes down to Frolik and Scandella being equal to the 4th round pick, since the same 4th round pick was traded for both players, however, we freed up cap space by trading Scandella and lost the most valuable part of the trade: the acquired 4th rounder, in this case, greater than the sum of it's parts.

Botterill is a literal brain-damaged moron.

If you trade Scandella for a 4th rounder and free up 4.5 millions dollars only to trade that 4th for a player with a 3 million dollar cap hit...

You traded a 4th round pick for 1.5 million dollars.

Should have just called Mittelstadt back up.

This guy is a (frank)ing jamoke.

U really gotta wonder where Botts falls on the Aspie scale. Anyone that spends that much time huffing in a brown paper bag under their desk has got to be up there.

Knights have a lot of centers, they need an addition for the 3rd line and they are looking for another D man.

Victor Hedman didn’t look anything like he does now. It’s not even patience with Dahlin. He’s played better as rookie then Jack did, and he’s doing fine now. He’s only going to keep getting better. Those that wanted a Norris and Calder in the same year need to adjust expectations.

I like W.Karlsson, but can’t see them moving him
Looks like we could probably get Eakin for nothing, but does he actually help?

Tuch is a young winger who’s having a rough season
I wonder if they’d consider moving him?

U watch Vegas,
any idea who they might be willing to move?

No chance Tuch, none.

Eakin yes, Wild Bill, no chance.

Cody Glass, nope

Stastny, nope, not now they have 1 more year of him.

Stephenson, doubt it

Nosek, he is there 4th line guy.

I would say Eakin would be the odd man out, but they do like him. They could actually use Bogo but the Knights are a fast team. Bogo for Eakin would be an ok swap.

Your math contradicted itself.

If S=4 and F=4 4= f or S

Which means F=S=4

- Pegullaville

This is logically sound.

You can have multiple factors equal the same thing. There’s no rule against it and it’s logically sound.
