From Calgary blog:

I realize he was used sparingly but he averaged more 5v5 points/60 than Mikael Backlund, Sam Bennett and Milan Lucic, among others, while ranking 3rd on the team in Corsi For%. It’s not like he was useless.

If this move was made in isolation I don’t like it for Calgary. An established bottom-6 winger provides more value to a team that wants to make the playoffs than a low percentage lottery ticket. I think even Frolik’s detractors would admit as much.

2 of the top 4 forwards out a least a month. Neat.

This season is toast.

Injury Update: Victor Olofsson will be out five to six weeks with a lower-body injury.

Looked at the schedule...that's 16 games IF it takes 5 weeks for recovery. Doesn't sound so bad to me that way for some reason.

We are going to need some players to put their big boy pants on and start producing.

This is when Sam usually gets a spark for his season.

Vesey, Sheary, and Johansson, come on down. You're the next contestants on score some goals.

As for the reaction in Calgary, Flames GM Brad Treliving called Frolik a "consummate professional.”

“This is a guy who came to work every day and did his job, was an excellent teammate, always had a smile on his face, a great guy to talk to," Treveling told reporters.

“And as a young player, if you want to know how to go about your business, just look at Michael Frolik. He looked after himself. He worked every time he was on the ice. He never would cheat you on effort. And he’s just a pleasure to be around. As I said to Michael when I talked to him, he’s one of the best guys I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with.

“Since we signed him five years ago, I think he’s given us everything that we had hoped for in his time here, and we wish him the best as he moves on.”

Hate to say it but Skinner hadn't really been doing much scoring before he got hurt.

Unless they wanted a LW, which in case I would have recalled CJ. He's been heating up lately for the Amerks since his injury.

Frolik won't be ready for the game tomorrow so I'm gonna assume they insert ERod. He should be good to go for the Blues game next Thursday.

Skinner scores 20-30 goals in his sleep ...... trust me. We will miss his goals.

Not to mention this year, His centers have been awful.
