The part in bold is a misrepresentation and an exaggeration.

He was exiled to the press box as soon as the coaching change was made. Not a giant leap to suggest that he was frustrated with that role and that Chicago wasn't high on him.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the Sabres have never beaten the Panthers let's see if the lead holds up

I look at it this way: most Sabres people thought of Nylander as a bust. That is not how most thought of Jokiharju, in fact, many were very upset when they found out he was traded.

Nylander was traded for what Chicago thought was there version of Nylander. Its not that Alex had value, just that chicago didn't value Joker.

This would be different, the offers and value is there on Toffoli, and Mitts value has dropped every year.

I don't think trading him for Toffoli is writing him off fwiw. At a reasonable extension, Toffoli would be a huge get.

That's where you lose me. Guys like him almost always end in unreasonable contracts.

Really ? for who ? who's trading a number 2 center ?
- SABRES 89

Never said we should trade Mittelstadt right this moment either. Hockey deal could be made in the offseason though.

They need to keep playing hard. Get goal #4 and put it to bed.

Totally agree. You don’t know what you have till it’s gone. I remember him calling play-by-play when RJ got sick and he was good at that too.

With the interchangeability of wingers, what could one get in exchange for Olofsson?

Ok, who is trading a number 2 center ? nobody unless it's an over pay.

RJ is much better with someone in the box with him too. Ray in smaller doses helps.

But Chicago wasn't, that's more my point. When you staple a young d-man to the press box after a coaching change and an effort to get younger, you're probably planning a future without him.

Im not saying teams won't value mittelstadt, of course there will be those that want to take the risk. But its undeniable that his value has gotten worse each year. At some point you have to decide if you want to salvage whats left or go all in on his development.

So far, I haven't really seen anything out of him that would make me think he's about to turn it around. Maybe im wrong, that's the risk in dealing him. There's risk with either decision, but I think there's a window of opportunity with Dahlin on his ELC and I want them to take advantage of that.

I know we aren't winning a cup this year but, I would like to see us in the first round of the playoffs. Even if we lost it still would be nice for 1 round.
