Goal post for Eichel
- Buff36

Bad goal there. Miller has to stick out his stick and deflect it, simple play. We scored on our chances, but 16 shots for is concerning. Still hard to believe Fla paid 8.5m (or so) for 7 years (or so) for BOB THEN drafted Trevor Knight 15th overall. BOB has a save % if .896. Makes Jbotts look competent

Idk dude
Clearly, the 31 goal season has proven to be an aberration
He’s a low20s per year goal scorer
How much u willing to pay for that?
Kevin Hayes just got 7x7+ last year
If we gave that to Toffoli, I’d be p!ssed

- jdfitz77

It's not an aberration, a lot of what goes into point totals has nothing to do with the individual but rather the team around him

You play with a bunch of duds and you can be the greatest passer the world has ever seen, your assist total will still be low, the opposite is true too.

All i know is no matter how good or bad the team around him has been, he's done a great job creating chances.

I would imagine he'd put up more than that here. He's basically the end product of what people bank on Reinhart's development being.

The bulk of LA's offensive chances come when he hits the ice.

- Sabresfan-365

Except Reinhart will have better point production numbers? People have been griping endlessly about Reinhart's production, and he had a 20 goal 40 assist season last year. If his actual point production is never more than Toffoli's the rest of his career, it won't be enough.

Gotta give some credit to the fla player. When someone drags the puck that far out, you think he’s trying to deke but he fired a quick shot thru millers legs.

Reinhart plays with 23 year old Eichel, not 32 year old kopitar. I don't think points are a good way to measure what Toffoli could bring to this team.

Its like someone giving up a ton of assets for Olofsson because he scored a bunch on Eichel's wing and thinking that he can carry his own line.

Yeah, it is an aberration
In the past 6 years...

He has 1 season of 31goals
1 season of 13 goals
And 4 seasons at a production of 21-24goals per

23, 31, (on pace for) 21, 24, 13, (on pace for) 22

Makes no sense at all to think he’s a 31goal scorer
It’s pretty clear he’s a low20s goal scorer
And that’s fine
But not at 7x7
That would be horrible

Once again, it’s all dependant on the assets moved to acquire him and what the contract looks like. Too many players get paid for past performance. What is he going to do between the ages of 28-34 ? That’s what he’ll be getting paid for not what he did before.

He played with the same guys the year before his 31goals, and had 23
And he played with the same guys the year after his 31, and he was on pace for 21

He is what he is
And that’s not a guy we should give a 7x7 deal to

I don't deny the risk involved in the contract, but I would personally bet on him keeping his shot impacts up through at least the next 4 years. But that's just me

I'm on board with trading for him, and a reasonable extension, but I'm not counting on a serious rebound in assists and goals unless he's on Eichel's line, and even then, I'm not.

But the team itself was worse, all the while he kept playing well. I dont know why that's being overlooked?

Also I don't know if bolded is actually true.

He probably deserved one at some point any how. Although yes, hischier is great, but he really owes his hart trophy to the fact that its awarded based on terrible criteria.

Edit: would we say that Hall's point totals going down with the devils was some kinda coincidence?

Good win. Imagine if they held on against Tampa? They’d have a nice little streak going. Anyway, undefeated in 2020. I’ll take it.

Feels like you're overpaying to make a bad bet.

It's the kind of bet a GM who is worried about his job makes. It might work out for a year or two. Screw the next guy.

It’s the type of game we’ve been losing so we’ll take the win but 16 shots isn’t good and the way they played the 3rd was terrible. Granted if Eichel’s shot goes in for a 4-0 lead instead of hitting the post, game over.

Got very lucky that puck rolled on fla with 30 secs left cuz he had the wide open net.

On to the important game
