Goal away from going to game 7 with the hands down best blackhawks team of their 3 cups in the 10s. We had a great roster, wasn’t a fluke . Agree with mediocrity after that, if Pronger never gets hurt I think the early 10s look a lot different.

In 2010 their goaltending and defense were pretty bad.

Thankfully Montreal upset the two top teams.

There used to be an aura about the Flyers.

Now they're just another team in the league.

There's nothing really special about them.

Kurtis MacDermid to have hearing with DOPS....yet no call on the ice. That to me is not acceptable.

I don't understand why the press are not on to the Flyers road problems. On the road, the Flyers end up with matchups that expose their inexperience lack of team speed and the inability/unwillingness of some players to play "the right way". At home, AV has masterfully covered those issues with his choice of lines and pairings to counter their opponents best players. On the road, we get to see turnovers and counterattacks that end up in goals.

I also wonder how many SH goals that the Flyers PK1 scores on the PP2 in practice. I bet it's a lot.

You would think that the league could review these in real time, like the NFL and even NCAA does with targeting and make the call on the spot. Should have been 5+10.

Comcast owns the team and employs the majority of the media that covers the team. It seems that Comcast doesn’t like bad press. Think back to last year when a hot mic caught Keith Jones talking bad about Jake. Since that time jones and Jackson have ramped up their honerism.

Think about it

I was irate. It was clearly a headshot with the refs looking right at it and nothing called. Just terrible

And the 7th seeded Flyers didnt upset a 2nd seed NJ Devils and made a historical 3-0 comeback against Boston both in series as well as Game 7......... but yea we only did well because MTL beat WSH and PIT

Matchups are somewhat of a factor but not a big one. They just don't play well away from home. From the goaltender on up. The Flyers are not a slow team.

Knowing both Jim and Jonesy pretty well, it is not remotely true that they are told what to say. Carry on.

I agree.

Lacking of character players like Jeremy Roenick, Chris Pronger and Scott Hartnell.

If there was an available big fish on the trade block or free agent market, we were one of at least 5 teams in talks.

We’re long ways away from a legitimate 40 goal scorer like Simon Gagne and Jeff Carter from years ago.

Toughness. Regardless if it’s the mid 70’s or mid 2000’s, we always had soldiers that could stand up to anyone. I’m not talking just goons. Actual skilled guys who could step into any situations to stand up for a teammate. I’m sure you could argue it’s not Necessary right now but I could argue it never hurts to still have these guys.

When we win, we’re fun to watch. When we lose, we’re dreadful to watch. There was a time when this team was fun to watch no matter the outcome of the score. Nobody likes that we didn’t walk away with the cup in 2010 but it was still a fun overall season as a 7th seed, coach firing and losing our starting goalie to injury.

I think a lot of our problems still stem from our back end. Getting out if our zone is always a nightmare and the coverage by a lot of the D is non existent at times.

The Boston and Pen cast is the benchmark for homerism. Flyers is a little dull and average

Just pointed out the oddity of how they are far less critical of the team since Keith Jones was caught on a hot mic. Nothing more, nothing less

Did you ever think that maybe there is less to criticize about the team this year as compared to the past few years.?

The team really turned a corner last season after the mic captured Jones’ criticism, didn’t it?

Nothing to critique about the teams play in California this year either. Or Edmonton. Or Calgary.

How can I be so blind?
