Ugh, 2020 will be 45 years since they won a Cup and 10 since they last had a decent chance to do.

This next decade has to be better than the last. I mean it just has to, right?

right?

sigh

Also, on a completely different topic. Corey Perry is a total Dbag.

Well they won 2 in the 70's. Went to a couple in the 80's. Went to one in 97. Again in 2010.

I'm thinking the 2020's their should at least be an appearance in the cup.

Hope so. I’m old enough to remember the era from 72-89. That was an amazing time. In today’s soon to be 32 team cap league, I very much doubt a run like that is possible. I’d be thrilled if in the next 10 seasons they could:
Make the playoffs at least 8-9 times
Get to the conference final 3-4 times
Reach the Cup final once or twice
And
Finally win another Cup

Last nights game aside the fact that we are even thinking playoffs without Patrick Lindblom and former first rounder Moran still says a lot. I think the team can use a big aah d man although I doubt they go for it. Too easy for forwards in my eyes I’ll take a pkill now and than just to have some fear in the opponents. Haag seems to have eased his hitting and is adjusting nicely but we’re still sloppy and some times easy to play against

The Flyers road performance and record is a major concern. If it continues it could cost them a playoff spot. Everything is not hunky dorry.

Agreed. Pointing out that they were terrible in San Jose, only so-so in Anaheim and flat out embarrassed in the first period against LA is not being negative. It’s simply being honest. They have, for the most part, played poorly on the road. And while they might be banged up and playing with the flu, poor road play is not a new thing with this team.

They need to improve their road play or they are going to struggle to make the playoffs. And even if they do squeak in, they’ll be looking at 2 games in Washington or Boston to start.
