yes. it seemed like he did things at times to prove he was in charge and it got old.

though maner/tavares was a pretty good combo.

yes. cause babcock had no success with this lineup.

He didn’t for a year.

Kind of why he got fired...you know for doing a bad job.

yes.

everyone was half-assing it for the first ~25 games. they are putting in more effort now. the stats reflect that.

it's a simple as that and should be obvious.

They were pissed the boss they didn't like kept his job this summer. Think about your past job performance for bad managers.

But "they're professionals".... Yeah, they're young millionaires. Let's not give athletes too much credit. The middle aged guy with a family at your job could take more poop than the average athlete

Think about getting a raise at work. It's nice, but it doesn't make you love your job more.

fair point.

his shtick got old. was a good coach to handle a tank season and the early playoff years.

would have been better suited for the type of team lou probably would have used.

keefe seems more suited for the team dubas is using.

I don't remember why Krug chose Boston - was it a 'highest bidder' kinda process?

No, but if the problem with the workplace was a Richard boss and they got fired and replaced by someone whose a little more motivational... That makes you love your job more.

I remember he liked the opportunity that was available at the time. He pretty much came in and played in the playoffs right away IIRC. I'm sure the bonuses we offered were up there with the other bidders though.

Edit: he came up and played two games and then the whole next year in the A

but I still believe it was a lot to do with the situation he'd be in

Mason Marchment will make his NHL debut with #Leafs tonight. Gave huge credit to skating coach Barb Underhill: “I don't think I would be here today without Barb, so really kudos to her.”

What did she do for him? “She taught me how to skate!”

Of course.

My only issue with Marner/Tavares was that in my opinion they are both players that seem to make other players better. So I hope they stay on separate lines going forward because they both seem to be able to elevate their line.

I love Matthews, but I don't think he makes other players better the way Marner or Tavares do.

- Leafs43

I disagree with this statement in principal. For the most part, I'll grant, that lazy Auston doesn't contribute enough but score goals. The Auston Matthews who is motivated at both ends of the ice is making everyone around him better and scoring goals. When you watch him strip a puck and flip a 60 foot no-look pass through two opposition players, you realize his vision is probably second only to Marner's on the team.

His role is as the shooter, so that's what you typically get, but when you watch him do all of the other things, he is ridiculous.

keefe is fine. he's doing a very good job. way better than I expected.

13-4-1 (or whatever it is) is a fantastic start.

if freddy stays healthy, the the playoffs are a lock.

the coach isn't the problem. the question is if this team can fight through adversity in the playoffs.

It always pisses me off when foreign countries insist on using weird names instead of just using the ones we use.
