Sure Scandella has size, but he won’t ever use it.
Good luck with him.
If they plan on playing him in top 4, well good Luck. - ImThatGuy
He's 3rd pairing with Fleury. If he can be a stay at home, shot blocking dman that clears the net, that is a win. If he can't use his size for that purpose he might be moved again at the deadline.

It's obvious he wasn't happy playing on that Buffalo team and you can't really blame him, this year Krueger was able to get the best out of him as he's been their best dman defensively and 2nd best dman behind Dahlin. I think coming to his hometown and in a contract year will give him extra incentive to get back to playing like his Minny days. Worst case scenario is half his salary can be retained at the deadline and he can be shipped out to a contender for more than what we gave up to acquire him. I've seen countless Sabres fans pissed off at the deal stating he had turned it around this year and had been arguably their best dman

Yes, he's a perfectly fine defender for a 3rd pairing. Upgrade over Kulak/Reilly and takes some of the PK load off Big Ben and Weber

Habs goals have gone from winning the Cup, to making the playoffs, to getting lucky in the draft lottery. Things sure have changed there in Montreal. - EugenesAxe
