Nelson with a terrible 3rd period. (frank)in Komarov has to shoot the puck there. Lee off the whole game. Too many passes made around the perimeter. These are the games at the end of the year that will prevent us from winning the division. - potvin05
he was the slowest player out there. Looked like he was out of gas the whole game. I just want home ice at this point forget about the division lead. It’s going to be a dog fight to the end most likely... |

not a very encouraging effort. why is Komarov allowed to play? after all these years of stockpiling young talent he is the best option? Dobson looks awful as well. |

The division is too good. Not getting at least one point tonight hurts. |

I remember one play where he whiffed on a wide open shot from the point. Other than that, I thought he was ok in the sheltered minutes he played. |

I thought Dobson played good. That pass to Lee should have made it 2-0. He’s doing a good enough job considering his age imo. |

I agree. Lee looked awful. Slow and losing most of his puck battles. Then again, most of the team was losing puck battles tonight. |

I thought he didn’t look too bad either. Made a few nice outlet passes and was pretty good in the O zone. A little unsure a couple of times but the kid hasn’t played enough to have the timing or confidence locked down. |

Yeah they needed to win tonight and didn’t get it done. Hope they decide to play defense Saturday again like they did earlier in the season because the Leafs will make them look silly if they don’t lock it up. |

Agreed. Going to take some time but you can see the kid has some serious talent. |

Lou still thinks this lineup is a winner. Johnston. Martin. Komorov. Mooseknuckle. Invisi-Bailey. Even Lee. Too many passengers on this team |

Lee has not played well at all this year. Yes once in awhile he scores a goal but if look at his game as a whole it’s really not good. If he gets the puck anywhere away from the net it’s an automatic turnover. He’s not a good enough skater to be an effective defensive player. Barzal shouldn’t be out there with Lee and Mooseknuckle. No chemistry at all |

Dobson? Not Mayfield? He stood out tonight. Dobson was fine aside from a few shots he shanked. To say he looks awful you clearly didn’t watch the whole game. Half the team played far worse than he did |

He didn’t watch the game. He thinks two shanked shots qualifies as an awful game. That kid skated like the wind |

Whalstrom played great.. I watched every game. He was a beast and I am excited to have the guy. Finland did a very good job of clogging p the front of the net and we essentially lost on a PP that was absolutely a joke. Drury did not even touch the guy and he went down like Crosby. As far as Whalstrom's "dirty hit" at the end of the game.. he barely touched the kid and they flopped... again.. which elicited a very big reaction from the US team. Finland plays hockey like they play soccer..
The guy who looked awful to me was Ranger's pick K'Andre Miller who gave the puck away constantly.
Zegras was friggin fantastic and so was the kid from Franklin Square Pinto.
also Knight played fantastic too. Brutal loss for sure but I loved watching Whalstrom in this tourney. |

After watching Eberle this year, I almost wish the Isles gave Wahlstrom a shot with Barzal this year. Eberle's contract is not looking good so far and Lee has to pick up his play. |

I was at the game last night. Very frustrating for sure... We seem to think when we play teams that are low in the standings we don't need to try too hard. I would love to see Trotz bring some kids up just to wake these "veterans" up...
Barzal's decisions at times are very .."Ho Sang ish"... needs to make the safe play more...
Lee needs to friggin finish. He was set up at least 4 or 5 times with golden opportunities and did not find the net. He is our Captain and making a lot of $$.. has to score on those chances. 2 break-aways where it was just him and Blackwood, the pass accross that if he shoots it high over a sliding goalie it's in the net, the 4 or 5 tips that I guess he was just unlucky on.... Needs to start scoring.. period.
Dobson played well at times but played brutal at times too. Fanned on a few shots that caused dangerous break-aways.
Leddy is flat our killing us at this point. He is really just playing brutal. I am not sure why he is racing to the point like a forward on that face-off and yes Brock got beat on it... but we Let Nico walk in alone from the face off dot to our goalie. ETF was that? Leddy got beat at least 6 or 7 times in the game and gave the puck away like he was Burno Gervais... brutal.
When they decided to skate last night they were good.. it just wasn't enough of the time. We spent looong shift in our own zone where Varly was getting peppered with shots.. just brutal to watch.
Bailey sux again
So does Leo, Moose Knuckle and Ross the Boss.
Rant over.. as u were. |

Wonder how much of Strome's production has to do with Panarin. He is almost at point per game. |

I hear you on Whalstrom.. and I felt he was good in tourney, but he isn't ready for fulltime NHL . I am fine making these kids wait and earn it. Look at Bellows. He was healthy scratched for 2 games in B-port and finally figured it out. He has been insane since... Let Ollie be furious he is in B-port until his play Demands he be called up. ... they are looking at Ladd right now a former Captain trying to earn his way back into the NHL. ... it's good for them for sure. (truthfully that is where Dobson should be right now too). |
