I agree with the call to put Dobson in. If he's not going to play when an opportunity like this arises, then what's the point of having him here at all?

With what we have to work with I like it. I also agree with playing Dobson over Aho at least to start. One thing that is weird to me is Dobson who has the least experience always playing on his off side? I get the current situation dictates that but would a more seasoned player be better off? Idk just a thought. I like the 2nd line I think Lee has had a hard time keeping up with Barzal and has played well with Nelson in the past.

I agree. I also like the idea of putting Lee with Nelson and Beau with Barzal. I'm missed the last game so I'm not sure if this was done already?

That 3rd forward line is going to strike fear into the hearts of Leafs fans.

Agreed. Considering what Barry has to work with, these seem like sound decisions. I like that Boychuk is paired with young Dobson. Hopefully, he will be able to make up for Dobson's lack of strength/physicality.

Yeah it’s crap but if they can keep the puck out of our end it’s all we can hope for. I’m sure bailey and Nelson will be getting some extra playing time on that line. That’s what Trotz has been doing in game.

Would not mind giving Bellows a try with Brassard.

He's also a tough SOB when he needs to be. I think he provides a little protection to our 18-year old.

Yup. It's a checking line that will get 4th line minutes.

@AGrossNewsday
#MapleLeafs John Tavares on #Isles defense and defensemen: "They’ve gone, from when I was there, we weren’t very good defensively, to now probably being the best defensive team. Extremely organized."

Team was lousy defensively despite all off JT's work.

Dobson has played his off side in Jrs a lot and was comfortable on both sides. I guess that’s why he’s playing his off side vs a veteran who never really does.

That’s the only reason I can think makes sense.

Read that also but was thinking the adjustment to the pro game may be easier playing on his natural side.

You would think. He has played the off side a couple of times already with the isles.
I know there are guys that can play their off side without any problems and some just can’t do it. Biggest difference is playing or stopping the puck against the boards in the offensive zone and clearing/passing up the boards in the d zone being the backhand and not the forehand.
Some guys like it because they have an advantage in the offensive zone having a better angle to the goal. Reason they will switch sides on the PP once they get possession.

Question (s), Are we legitimate cup contenders THIS year, with scoring help ?
Obviously, to acquire this asset, some will need to be given up. I personally think we are really close, but could be closer next year, and the years after. With Pelech out for the remainder of regular season ( at least ), I would be alright to see Dobson, and Aho, and company play this year, and then make a move in February if it's good for the Isles...cause (frank) the other teams

I don't think so. My feeling is they have to go for it starting next year.

What do you think changes next season as opposed to this one to make us cup contenders? Serious question no sarcasm😂

That was a very entertaining feed last week.

I think I read somewhere that she has a longterm boyfriend or something. Hurts his chances but maybe she doesn’t have a boyfriend.

Great question Cpt., this year Pelech being injured sucks but no one knows what next year will bring in injuries or even how the team plays. If your in the POs you go for it now. Blues proved it last year.

She does have a long term boyfriend (she’s bored), thats why she met him and he knocked her bottom out a couple nights ago.
