Basically the equivalent of losing Glasshews, Snakevares, Marner and Overratedlander to long term injuries all at the same time. Not very many teams in the league have the depth to overcome significant injuries such as that and it's not like the Habs are getting smoked in games. They've been in most of their games still and even dominated a majority of them. The most frustrating thing is losing 1-goal games in regulation. You need to at least be able to get that loser point if you plan on making the playoffs when you get healthy again - Komisaurus Rex
Good lord, you dont actually believe that do you? |

43 points in last 81 games
for a putrid kings team
probably puts up .6 ppg on the second line in Montreal
which is normal second line production, and higher then all but 4 leaf guys up front right now - homiedclown
Says the guy who cheers for a team trending toward their ninth straight lottery pick
Enjoy!

It’s getting old hearing that Kovy isn’t a good team guy. Can someone give me one fact to why everyone believes this? In NJ he was loved by the guys. He developed a strong respect in that room. I heard he was nothing but a team player in LA doing whatever they asked of him and only being positive during it. I can’t really speak for the Atlanta locker room but he was their captain, so mgmt saw something other than goals and points out of him.
This was a good pick up on a 2 way contract. Just surprised it was the Habs that made this offer. Pittsburg, Washington, Boston and even Nashville to an extend could have used a rental Kovy at that price tag.
Has Father Time caught up to Kovy? Yes, but rather than being a point per game guy has is a .5 point per guy right now. That still warrants 2nd line minutes. |

Doesn't hurt when half the team is Laval right now. Bergy always wheeling and dealing. Best GM in the league - Komisaurus Rex
There are MUCH better gm’s in the league. |

You heard correct. Name a GM with a better track record.I'm not going to fault him for the inability to lure a big free agent to Montreal, that's a tax/language barrier issue not a Bergevin issue
His trade history speaks for itself:
-Weber for Subban straight up
-Turning Chucky into Domi
-Tuna, Suzuki, Norlinder, LeGuerrier for Pacioretty
-Turning Weise & Fleischmann into Danault & Romanov
-Drouin for Sergachev
-A 2nd and a 4th for Petry
-Getting a 2nd for Gorges
-Getting a 2nd and 3rd for Shawzy (whom unfortunately is sidelined by a concussion again)
-Cayden Primeau in the 7th round
-Getting Armia for eating Steve Mason's contract
-Getting the Queefs 2nd rounder for a playoff round of Pleks
-Somehow swooping in and getting the highly coveted Vanek for a 2nd on the Trade Deadline Day
This is just to name a few. Even his latest move, Reilly for Scandella and Kovalchuk. One can argue he hasn't acquired a franchise game changer but that was never the plan. The plan has always been to build through the draft and you're starting to see the fruits of that labour this year with the likes of Suzuki, Poehls, KK, Fluery, Meat, Primeau and you'll continue to see the influx of young high end talent coming in from here onward. In the toughest market in the sport he's done an admirable job to say the least

Ya...nowhere near the best gm.
This guy is a joke right.
No way he could be this much of a homer |
