Wasn't that long ago that peak years for forwards was 26-29. Now it's more like 24-27. If Gaudette was this good at age 20, we'd be expecting him to become an elite top six guy by age 25 or so. But at 23, he's almost at the level where he's going to top out. Hope I'm wrong though.

Edit: Damn, I wish.

I know what your saying. Just turned 50 so I get a little depressed when 23 is considered past prime.

Is Benn hurt or healthy scratched?

BREAKING: Ex-Dallas Stars coach Jim Montgomery is checking into rehab for alcohol abuse.

In his first public statement since being fired, he says it was the "appropriate call" to let him go.

Dude was coaching hungover/drunk

- Nucker101

There has to be more to it though. If alcohol was his problem I'm betting there was a particularly severe alcohol-related incident.

Fantenberg has a nice blend of size, strength, aggression, mobility, shot & offensive instincts. However his gap control and reads in his own end are sometimes questionable. Might be better than Benn for now but not sure that he'll be a long term solution here.
- YeOldTimer

Fantenberg has been a good pickup. Made a couple of gaffes last night that led to goals, but has also added some needed physicality. He & Benn are big improvements over Hutton and DP....it’s nice that the D has enough depth to sit one of the two of them!

No kidding. And Biega. Don't forget the Bulldog!

Fantenberg has an interesting blend of skills and does a lot of things quite well. Have just started to notice that opponents are getting good shots off right in front of him. Hopefully he's able to correct that.

Kovalchuk signed in Montreal for 700k, just trying to keep his HoF hopes alive?
- NorthNuck

I'd guess he is in. has a good resume with KHL, NHL and International appearances, his points per game in every league.

I wonder how the committee looks at Stanley Cup vs. Gagarin Cup?

Gagarin Cup? Is that what it is called?

Thanks Wappy. But it was back in October. I guess it’s time for me to accept the fact.

Agree, but I wish some of Wings songs were produced as Beatles songs. Add some Lennon, Martin, and a touch of Harrison and they would be perfect.

I ain’t a music snob. Just like to talk music and some on here have great insight. I think humongous said it perfectly. Most Wings songs sound like unpolished Beatles songs.

Glad you’re at the office.
