Man, Keefe has been incredible. The detractors will claim this style of play isn’t well-suited for the playoffs, and this level of winning isn’t sustainable in such a high-octane offensive structure, blah, blah, blah. These are the same people who criticized Babcock for stifling his star players with a defensive-minded strategy.

No point shoving a square peg into a round hole, as they say. The Leafs have the most highly-skilled collection of offensive talent in the league, so playing any other style of hockey would make no sense.

On that note, good LORD are Matthews, Marner, JT and Nylander fun to watch. Marner’s vision and creativity with the puck is like nothing I’ve ever seen. He’ll push for the Art Ross trophy next season if he’s healthy

Unlikely to happen though - Montreal cursed with a very good goalie and Habs would have a hard time (with their fanbase and optics) of doing what the Sabres did to try to get McDavid. Member when Murray demoted or traded any goalie in the Sabres system that had a save percentage above .550? Then took it up the hoop at the draft?
