I think with progress has been probably slower than they wanted, but they've got some promising young players and are now in a position to be serious buyers and build faster, so even though it may have taken a little longer I think they're finally in the position they need to be.

They had one with Hall but had no goaltending so he jumped ship. And yea to better your chances you need a few elite talents surrounded by good talent to really get over the hump.

Honestly for a winger who's had mostly alright centers who he hasn't really had any chemistry with I think he's been great. How many wingers in the league do you rate above him? I know he's not THE top winger but he's up there.

Rw always says pitt had the easy part done for any gm in having Sid geno. And while I don’t argue that getting a 1st and 2nd overall to turn into them is damn near impossible, Edmonton got the same damn gifts with mcdavid, Draisaitl, Hall, etc and they ain’t done poop. So a lesser gm could have blown pitt up even with our centres.

Killing it on the pp at the world juniors. He has potential. Good skater, pass, shot. That being said remember what young letang and young karlson looked like lining up next to gonch back in the day. Atrocious!
