Might be true! He can fully choose to go to UFA though, wonder if his agent convinces him to. - neem55
You are right, UFA is an option but I don't think he wants to leave. He seems pretty happy here. Why go through all of the growing pains as a leader with this group just to walk? If anything, I think his agent will have to talk him out of taking a bit of a discount to stay. |

Agreed it is an absolute embarrassment to call this an all star game, I can remember when the best players got together and actually played a real game to win with emotion.
All the Canucks should say F it and rest. - Makita

I heard a good discussion on the radio also yesterday. There will be other top goalies on the market so the UFA money might not be as high as one would think.
I heard Murph or IMac say they think it will be 5.5 per. |

At 5.5 per I'd do it. Holtby is the only other guy on the list I'd take a crack at but I doubt he's leaving the Caps and his price tag will likely be higher. Like I said earlier, I'm of the opinion Marky has earned it. He's more than proven his value to the team. There's no point in making a sideways move to enter the UFA crapshoot for another starting Goalie at this point.
With where we are at, any big future Goaltending decision has to evolve around Demko. But that really depends on how he develops over the next little bit. Also, how his bucket holds up to the next high heater. |

I think 5.5 is fair also and agree he has earned it. |

Blues blew a 3 goal lead to the Knights, bruins must have sleepwalked against the oilers. |

Which probably means Benning will give him 8x8.
It's weird, he could get red hot from this point and win a round in the spring, then who knows where that number goes? Then say he tanks after that. In that case, the expansion draft could be a buffer and we'll be glad to be rid of him like Pittsburgh with Fleury. I'll be glad when all of the expansion crap is done and the playing field levels out. |

Interesting. Holtby is up, I'm not sure who else but that's good to hear! |

A lot of those guys are pretty old. Hltby, murray and then marky id say are the top3 ufas. Plenty of demand for goalies imo, id like tilo hear the radio chat but i think i dusagree on paper. So many teams need goaltending it seems to me. Off the top of my head:carolina, clumbus, calgary and san jose. Couple good old goalies but only three guys in their prime... expansion will create more need potentially.
Edit:could make a case for lehner having similar value. |

The more I see of free agents signings the more I cringe. I would only use Free agency to fill the bottom part of the line up. So many things that can go wrong.

2021 is where it gets interesting. Not sure my theory of the expansion draft being a buffer holds up when looking at the list. |

It did but it took copious amounts of patience. Thank goodness for Ian Clark and Marky buying in to his teachings. |

Doesn’t really matter. There’s hundreds of examples of late bloomers who thrived with the tight coaches ect. The point is: you bring in guys who you think can maje your team better. Draft is great, im loving Miller though |
