He was good last year. I haven’t had a high opinion on the guy, but he has stepped his game up. I still think you look at your options, columbus and carolina have a lot of prospects that look good.

That's the way I see it. I see Marky as a legit starter that won the job. Demko is unproven regardless of how many years pro he has. If, as you say, it takes more than a good season to prove yourself then I feel the time is better spent elsewhere.

As of right now 23 but should be around 35 by the end of the year, and I agree, your not gonna get a top ten pick but you might get a late first or a couple seconds.

Personally I think Markstrom should be left to walk, he’s gonna want a fortune and he’s not an elite goaltender at 30 years old.

I don’t think 5.5 is unreasonable for Markstrom, or untradeable. That gives them another year to see what they have with Demko before the expansion draft. Obviously that assumes that Markstrom won’t get more or have trade protection.

For now, absolutely. We don't have the depth to make that move. But If we sign Marky something will have to give one way or the other. It's a 31 job position, soon to be 32. At Demko's age, he should be gunning for one of them soon if he's a legit starter.
