Babs: "Ok, it's a Bruins powerplay. Hyman you take the faceoff against Bergeron, try to win it, you're a gud pro."
Hyman: "Ok, then what coach?"
Babs: "Gotta work hard, once you work, things start to work.. Let's go boys"
Edit:
After Bruins score;
Babs: "what happened Hymes?"
Hyman: "don't know, coach.. I worked" - PatC80
Keep Grinding....Dig Deep....Patty Will Find The Fountain of Youth...Stick to the plan....Not a big fan of Matthews and Marner on the same line... |

I find it amusing that Babcock is given zero credit for anything. Yes stubborn and clearly was time for him to leave. But have you ever considered that they are playing so well right now because of some of the foundations that Babcock instilled? - drexel
Any Fanbase would have turned against him long because Leaf fans did.
Truth is, he became so laughably bad he destroyed any goodwill or credit he deserved. |

was curious how the Muzzin trade was looking from the Kings side
Durzi and Grundstrom in AHL, not much NHL upside yet.
Draft pick Tobias Bjornfot
AHL production pretty meh
Looking back, easily still make that deal |

from page 2. does every page have a gem like this?
Since, the negatives have been discussed, how good did "Overachiever" Matt Stajan look with two goals? The guy is the real deal.
And how about Stalberg? Looks like a very good young player. A 6th round steal by JFJ Jr.
And again Kessel and Gustavsson will be added to the team. |

Babcock was best for that 2015-16 team. It had zero talent and mostly all grinders. Once talent came aboard he seemed lost. He wanted Nylander, Marner, Matthews to plat like grinders and get the same ice-time. He's clueless to coaching in 2020.
I wanted to jump out of a window (I did..twice) hearing him say "Keep Grinding"...WTF is that? What does that mean?
I once heard him say he has trouble sleeping as he's thinking of ways to improve the Leafs? But during ALL that time using Tyson Barrie on the 1st unit PP or Matthews and Marner together did not come into his head?

As far as playoff style guys or tougher hockey guys here's my take:
C+ Matthews: Fine. Go to the net a little more but no issues.
C+ Marner: Not throwing too many hits but takes them to make the play, was fine in the playoffs.
D Nylander: Soft. Avoids the hit. May hurt his effectiveness.
B Tavares: No issues.
C Reilly: Okay. Gets pushed off the puck sometimes. Not very physical, weak in front.
B Kap: Fine.
B Mik: Fine.
C+ Barrie: Not very physical, mediocre in front.
C Kerfoot: Not very physical.
A Hymen: Physical.Defends teammates. Put Chara on his ass last year.
C+ Johnsson: Not throwing many but will take one to make play.
C+ Spezza: Fine.
A Muzzin: Physical solid d man who lays big hits and protects the tender.
B+ Holl: Physical player. Throws hits and protects tender.
B Engvall: Not a direct physical threat, but big. Doesn't back down.
C+ Goat: Fine. Needs to use his size more though.
B Dermott: Fine.
B Timashov: Fine.
C+ Ceci: Not too bad, better under Keefe's system. Fine.
C+ Moore: Takes the hit to make the play.
D Marincin: Weak in front. Meh elsewhere.
About a C+ on the physical side. With the talent they don't need to be crazy tough, but could use a guy or two with more push back. We may see that from within as it does seem they care more under Keefe. |

Fair take.
Maybe Marchment sticks as a 4th liner. Brooks has some good hustle.
Definitely could use another Muzzin-type on D. One that can skate well would be great. |

you do know that he still holds the record for most points by a leafs team in franchise history?
it was time to go, but let's not pretend that he was a complete disaster. |

I keep pushing for Daley. Obviously there are better guys but with the cap and what it would take to get him, Daley is my target. Said it was a huge deal to play the Leafs in 1000th game. Crosby's captains choice to hoist the cup after Crosby. Dudes a winner.

But the Pens only won because of Malkin and Crosby I’ve been told.
(frank) Daley that guy sucks.
I’d maybe take a look at Dillon, he was pretty good last year.
Not so much this year but SJ has been bad as a whole. |
