Neither have done anything in the playoffs the past couple of years, except Tampa 2 years ago.
So thats understandable, both (specially the leafs) have much to prove in the playoffs.

- Fakepartofme

It's not understandable at all. The Blues missed the playoffs 2 years ago. The NHL has too much parity and is too wide open to base on past playoff success.

Boston had a very easy road to the finals after the Leafs. I could care less about them getting to the finals last year in terms of their chances.

Who cares.
And no one was predicting the blues would win anything last jan either.
Leafs have failed to do anything in the playoffs.
So its understandable for people to take the wait and see approach with the leafs
At least Tampa won several rounds 2 years ago.
Reg season success means nothing if you cant do it in the playoffs. Wait and see for the leafs. They look different, but we'll see how it translates.
Anything else is just stupid homerism

Myself and Nick Kypreos did

Regular seasons means nothing, as does past playoff round wins. I've been watching for 35 years. It's irrelevant.

Did you know the Leafs have not won a round since 2004? Proof Matthews, Marner, Nylander can't win.

INSANE argument.

Tampa not winning a single playoff game last year is already incredibly irrelevant

The Leafs will trade Dermott soon. The Rielly trade will happen later.

You saying Dubas likes Barrie over Reilly? Offseason oughta be fun seeing how things play out.

My favourite was Ovechkin talking about how 21 year-olds aren't doing it right. He won his cup at age 32....

exactly - complete insane and out of context commentary about Matthews, Marner and Nylander not winning playoffs...

would have been pretty difficult for Marner, Nylander and Matthews to participate in the NHL playoffs between 2005 - 2016... since at the beginning of that period of time I would guess at age 7-8-9 they may have had difficulty keeping up with the pace of the game.

that's akin to blaming Sundin for the Leafs missing the playoffs in 2010-2015
