Myself and Nick Kypreos did

Regular seasons means nothing, as does past playoff round wins. I've been watching for 35 years. It's irrelevant.

The Leafs will trade Dermott soon. The Rielly trade will happen later.
- Steven_Seagull

I would be completely down with trading Dermott - particularly if its in a package with Johnsson or Nylander to land a primo defender. Looking forward I see Sandin as capable of picking up Dermott's current role at the beginning of next season... but for comparsion don't see Dermott being able to stepping up to fill Rielly's.

Just follow old' Rog's posts. My predictions are right on.

Boston Bruins-First round fodder.

But wait...Boston went to game 7 of the finals last year so that means they are prove and can't lose in the 1st round...

Top cup contenders: Leafs, Lightning, Stars. Blues, Caps.

Makes sense Carolina looks good they are proven they won the cup in 2006.

Leafs will never win a playoff round. They have not won since 2004. There's actually a rule about that.

I like the Canucks this year. They went to the finals in 2011. They have been there before. In fact, Luongo is still on that roster with his cap hit.

You saying Dubas likes Barrie over Reilly? Offseason oughta be fun seeing how things play out.
- Nighthawk

oh boy... where does this poop come from?

Dubas likes Marincin - that's obvious since we all wondered why Babdyck continued to put in the lineup repeatedly when the guy obviously is AHL caliber.

Dubas like Barrie "RIGHT NOW" because his CAP hit fits the Leafs hemmed in defensive spend

Dubas is trying to rejuvenate Barrie since the departure of Babdyck

Dubas isn't able to pay Barrie north of 5M if that's what he wants to do....

comparing Barrie and Rielly and who loves who is only something a west coast (mini) wiener would do

How can you bet against the Hawks though? 3 cups and Leafs have not won a round since 2004.

isn't it fascinating how the Canucks fantastic goalies of the 2011 timeframe are both out of the NHL now... but still getting paid quite nicely?

which org was it that overpaid them so handsomely?

Jay Beagle 3 million per baby! Jason Spezza, way better NHL minimum!

sure ... if Dubas moves two or three guys off the current roster and doesn't resign Muzzin (or someone like Muzzin) who everyone told me the past couple of days is the Leafs best defender

so yup.,.. sign Barrie to 6M or whatever, don't resign Muzzin
or trade Nylander/Johnsson/Kapanen/Kerfoot to create CAP space for a rover

seems like a sound approach to improving the defense

don't count out Edmonton they got to the finals in 2006. That was 2 years after the laffs last won a playoff round.

What? He has 13 million.

Knocking Dubas for the D is stupid. He traded down and picked Sandin. That looks brilliant.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Your tune will change when this team's D is building around Sandin, Lilljegren and Rielly.

yup.

i'm guessing the leafs move hyman/johnsson and let muz walk. should leave around 7ish for a barrie.

add a few league minimum chumps and the roster stays about the same.

Fack youre annoying and juvenile.
No one said they can never win a round, all i said was that its understandable for some to feel unsure of what the leafs can do in the playoffs right now. As this team or very similar variations of it hasnt done much the past two years. Admittedly there are lots of variables that went into that and admittedly lots has changed. But for now, im on the wait and see but you be you.

That attitude is what leads "Experts" like Burke to every year only pick the favourites. That never works.
