Same Lucas.
8-1 Jets.
Dubas is an idiot.
Even our guys with size play like lightweights.
Really embarrassing.
I love the Leafs but I hope they get humiliated to the point where Shanahan is forced to fire Wonder Boy and build a Team which can win 4 rounds.
This Team definitely cannot. - Oilbad
Yeah get 80 year-old Lou back! |

Well too bad he had no power to decide anything. No need to rush a move. Think Dubas would rush something like that? Dubas can't get enough of elite talent. He keeps it like it's gold. - RogerRoeper
He held all the power.
The rules were different back then - if you didn't sign European draft picks in the first two years, they went back into the draft and you received no compensation.
There was a huge franking rush to make a move. |

I like Kerfoot good forward and Barrie? Gone after this year but see what Kadri brings as he stood up for a teammate who got knocked senseless we could really use that...maybe Marchment sticks around a bit |

Meh, Colorado still lost yesterday.. It looks like the fight didn't wake any one up. |

In case everyone forgets Raycroft won 37 games that year most by a leaf goalie at the time, he just sucked the following years so didn’t look like a bad deal to start |

watched that game to see the new Rangers goalie kid...
weird game in many ways...
there weren't any notable incidents that changed momentum... just flukey goals - against the run of play |

The fight was the dumb ass reason why we ditched him. 2-2 game in the first he lost his poop got ejected and Colorado were down 2 players for the rest of the game (assuming the guy who got his bell rung didn't return). |

People are now saying Reilly's injury may be worse than expected. WTF are they doing? If he needed to rest or have surgery earlier in the year and didn't, and that screws him and the team over at the end of the year that would be (frank)ed. I hope that is not the case. |

Good point.
I'm usually on both sides of this argument.
I see the benefit to having guys that play a heavy game with talent...ie: Tom Wilson, if you're really lucky Thachuk!!! (Love his style of play)
I, also, see that the game is changing to a speed/talent game without the goonery. This will take time to evolve and we are seeing the growing pains of that now. Some teams have zero grit, others still have Ryan Reaves.
Problem for me is that I believe there is a huge amount of proponents to keeping some of the dirt, grit, hard hitting and fighting in the game....and I agree with them. That's the reason it won't evolve fast and may never really go away. Some GMs will always think the trick to winning is: when every other team has just finesse, find a guy to hit like a truck and scare the sh1t out of those players.
The best thing about hockey for me is that it has EVERY element of other sports in it...hits like football, end to end speed like Bball, finesse and skill like no other sport AND fighting...well...like fighting/boxing/MMA.
I've played hockey...at a standard sh1t Canadian kid level...but there is and always should be the "players taking matters into their own hands" part just for dirtiness. Why?...
Refs suck and call the game based on balance...and that is never fair or unbiased. Boston ran us a lot in the P/Os, we needed some push back. Didn't really have it except for Kadri and...
Kadri does it wrong....always, or twice. Some guys are great at it...ie Thachuk. Others no so good, the aforementioned.
I want speed, talent, lacrosse shots, slippery toe drags and between the legs goals, hits and hard ass clean hits, grit and the occasional fight when some rat fu3k deserves to get beat for being a douche and running the talent but only in a dirty way. (I hate this new world of a good hit gets you in a fight)
I'm not of fan of one part of Matthews game...especially because he's a big chunt....throw a fu3king hit once in a while. Toughen up, you're a hockey player not a soccer player.

Honestly, I don't even understand why Lindgren is having a hearing - and I am the type of guy who feels terrible when a terrible hit is levied. It looked like he got body first, and mostly, and then the head on the follow through on what I thought was a clean hit.
The DOPS has seemed even more inconsistent since Parros started running things. Or at least that's how it seems. You see somethings that are terrible and they go unmentioned, and other things that are seemingly inconsequential and a 2-3 game suspension is levied. |

I'm not crying.
Shut up, you are the one who is crying.
And the funny thing about this is that the story was written before Canada won gold.
And then he won the WHL league MVP award, CHL Goaltender of the Year award, and of course top WHL goaltender award.
Hindsight is 20/20, but don't tell me the Leafs were stupid for thinking this kid was going to be a great goalie.
He was the best goaltending prospect the Maple Leafs have ever had. - Atomic Wedgie

Looks like a great hit...except the elbow was pretty high to the head. Probably the issue?
Mentioned in my previous...long ass... post...
I'm not a fan of a player throwing a clean, hard hit and then immediately having to fight with some other opposing team member because he's the judge.
I think if a player starts a fight with a guy because he threw a clean hit...he, the instigator, should get 5m and game misconduct. A tougher instigator penalty for that specific violation.
The solution to great hard hits should be great hard hits back. As long as everything is clean, it should be a part of the game of hockey. Always. |

I agree.. I don't think it was a dirty hit by Lindgren.. It was a hard hit and Donskoi fell awkwardly, but I don't think he targeted the head. |

I hated Rudy - can't stand anything to do with Notre Dame football.
Now if you want to talk Breaking Away, I'm just a puddle of tears.
And I used to love Something for Joey, but on principle I won't watch anything that casts Joe Paterno in a positive light. |

watch it live, and about 4-5 replays. Lindgren lined the Donskoi up "textbook", elbow not elevate, he didn't jump or elevate...
but Donskoi's pencil neck whipped causing his head to hit Lindren's shoulder and helmet.
the hit was not bad, but the outcome/result was.
the level of inconsistency with these things isn't new because of Parros(not defending him)... but it sure hasn't gotten any better.

OK, forgive me, I've been smoking crack, but would you do this deal:
Ceci for Gardiner.
Money is roughly the same (Ceci makes about a half milly more).
Carolina gets rid of their mistake.
Gardiner gets a fresh start - hell, he might look good under Keefe.
How much crack have I smoked? |

Every year my brother hosts a Fathers Day pool party for the family.
Every year I get my brothers and my dad something goofy to wear for a group shot.
I'm 95% certain I'm getting these for this year:

3 years left at $4 million.
For some weird reason, I find that actually appealing.
And I just can't help but think that Gardiner would get the dead Babcat bounce effect. |
