I wonder what happens with the Blues, they have to do something with their d core now.

They have Parayko(5.5), Faulk(6.5), Bortuzzo(1.4), Gunnarsson(1.8). for next year. They cant really afford Petro next year.

Id imagine the Leafs would go hard after Petro as a UFA, and I wonder if they Blues trade him like they did with other players like Shattenkirk. Or if they trade another dman after the season ends.

I think so as well, but not without moving out someone. I think Bouwmeester is done. They have to sign Blais, but it'll probably be a low number bridge deal - maybe $1.5m ish. They're near $77m as it stands. Assuming the cap ends up around $84m, they'd have $7m to sign him. This assumes you bring in a couple of $750k guys to fill in (like Kostin from the AHL, and maybe a 7th D). If they can find a taker for Allen, they're in business because that will give them about $3m in cap savings, assuming they get a league minimum backup (which works great as we've seen!).

If nothing else, I would be pretty certain that would be his preference.
