The build up of "Green sucks" was getting pretty large with the 7 game win streak.

Canucks were molested all night long. No room. Lightning quicker on pucks, hungrier, and just battled more.
- kaptaan

We are a 17-21 team in the standings and the Lightning are getting back to that top 10 status. It sure showed last night. But hoping the kids bounce back.

You have been consistent! Question though, which available coach would you hire? Do you think a different coach would of squeezed out more wins? As an example, if DeBoer cannot win with Sharks or Laviolette can't win with what he had with Preds, would he do any better with this cast?
- Healthy-Scratch

They are different markets, Laviolette was quite successful in Nashville, he took 3 different teams to the final, including nashville in 17, and won with Carolina. Proven successful coach, and was 19-15-7 when fired.

DeBoer also took two different teams to the final, New Jersey and San Jose. After 4 fantastic seasons with 46, 46, 45 and 46 wins in each season they fired him for a slow start. But I am not personally impressed with the roster that Wilson is trying to win with in SJ.

I would have Laviolette in a heartbeat, but realistically it will never happen. Benning has decided Green is his man, and I think this group of players would benefit from a more experienced coach.

Pretty much, it’s the same in every blog, same regurgitated topics and complaints.

Suggestions needed, or some old 2011 style trolling from other fan bases to unite the leftcoast.

I wonder what the difference would be between the players liking and wanting to win for an inexperienced less adept coach versus playing for an experienced one they are unfamiliar with.

Good question, another would be, how comfortable are owners and management with being mediocre as opposed to being successful?

The assumption that a coaching change alone would make us more successful is dangerous imo

Totally. Historically, a hot Goalie makes a bigger difference than coaching ever has.

The result might be the same but the motivations would be different coming from the players. One pulling for the underdog guy you like that has your back vs fear or impulse to impress the new boss because you want keep or get more playing time.

Either way coaches get changed when a team gets stagnant or is under performing. With many Canuck players on track to new career years and winning percentage improved then Green is safe for now.

If the Canucks trend into not progressing or falling from expectation is when Green will get fired.

As I stated earlier, realistically it will not happen. Canucks will miss the playoffs, fire Green at that time, retain their pick. Good possibility Benning is also gone, new GM, Coach, and the process starts all over.

Or fire Green now, hire Laviolette, team responds or they don’t. If they don’t Benning is gone and the process starts all over. If they do, Benning will get another year and fans get a better product on ice.

It can be dangerous not to, as well. We don't know but maybe a coaching change guarantees them a playoff spot.

So keep Green to mollycoddle the players, something wrong with this way of thinking, IMO.

The new NHL, feelings are paramount. Some us are a little behind the curve.

Subban was a few years too late for this movement.

your feelings on Green got you so hot you are projecting answers that were never made.

Just look at facts of player development and team winning percentage. Progress vs expectation.

JB stated that as the high end players developed they would push others down the depth charts. It has happened. Is the next step for development of the 2nd tier of players pushing down the rest? That allows Van to have a TB type line up.

What the what, I am not hot at all, thought I was having a decent conversation with some posters.

Your post was that they should keep Green because players would be fearful of ice time and performance issues, that is mollycoddling.

Please show me facts of player development and team winning percentage.

Your love of Green has you projecting silly statements that you do make.
