Bathgate was a great player playing for a really lousy Rangers team. The 58-59 Habs were one of the greatest NHL teams of all time. Belliveau, Moore, Rocket Richard and Doug Harvey were all on that great team that won 4 cups in a row. Moore is one of the most under rated NHL players ever. Scored a then record 96 points in an era where scoring was less prolific and and the schedule was 70 games.

Still almost half a season to play. Hard to see Carlson keeping up his pace. His best ever was 70, should score 80 easily but I see a Norris for him. I don't see any issue with including any of these players in the conversation at this point. Injuries and production will change by the end of the schedule. Would probably include Marchand in the conversation as well, despite the fact that he continues to be a giant douche bag.

In fairness to Matthews he’s only now getting the minutes to to be able to catch these guys. Babs was a total douche when it came to doling out ice time

It's not out of the question for Tony to get 60 goals and 100 points if he stays healthy. The way Keefe is playing him now and with Marner, there's no reason he can't be in the Hart convo.
