I'm talking about the rulebook. Look at it from that standpoint. Lindgren did nothing wrong in the eyes of the 2 referees and got dropped for it.
I wasn't calling for the reality of the game to be changed. Just pointing out the absurdity of what transpired.

I blame the fact that as a goalie for my entire childhood, no one ever taught me how to shoot.

But the fact is that it wasn't a bad hit.
The only point I was trying to make is that this culture of having to defend yourself outside the rules (fighting IS outside the rules, even if accepted) for doing something that is a part of the game is bullpoop. And it happens almost every time someone gets laid out with a hard, but LEGAL hit.
Illegal hits are another matter entirely.
