Since when is 4.55 top pairing money?? Seems like any quality 5-6 d man in the league makes 4. - The-O-G

I said my piece in your guys blog. Circle jerk crew was getting pissy in there. Lord Humungi is a closet Oiler fan that hates everything Flames.
Anywho thanks for taking Baertchi. - K-man25
Can you tell me more or less which page? I would like to see the reaction but no way in hell will I submit myself to reading through pages of drivel. |

Tonights lineup per Steinberg:
Tkachuk-Lindholm-Mangiapane
Gaudreau-Monahan-Backlund
Lucic-Ryan-Dube
Rinaldo-Jankowski-Bennett
8 wingers 8 left handed shots.
Makes ZERO sense to me! |

Good signing not great. Also hardly a core player. Tops out as a 2nd pairing RHD.
I’m thinking JG should get offered out in the offseason & get back the best haul possible. He’s plateaued & timing is right to move on from him. Plenty of teams would bid for him & depth in return would bode better longterm imo.
Overall the team looks stale & the last few years they haven’t taken the next step. In goal has been most of it but that looks more solid though could be better.
Teams like NYI Buffalo & others would make a play for JG.
Just my 2 bits |

Agree and If we dont have playoff success this year I think Tree will be able to say this core had its chance and change will come. JG would bring back a significant return if thats how it turns out. |

Weird signing from Andersson's side. Seems he's not willing to bet on himself. Six years is a horrible length for him. Even though 30 is a mostly arbitrary number, it's going to make it really hard to get a good UFA deal after this unless he turns into a star. |

Next year he plays with gio a top 2 D is a steal at 4.5 !!! He’s 23 that contract is great now in 3 years when he’s even better will be a steel !! Trade mang or Dube at best is a lateral move so no to that , it time to package Bennett he needs a fresh start and a honest chance at top 6 role flames just refuse to give him games in that spot and no not one or two you need 8-10 for a honest look , Kreider is a whinny American so no to that punk Toffoli would be a good trade only if willing to buy into and sign extension |

What do you mean stale the last 2 years? They finished first in the west last year, if that had been the Canucks you guys would have been stroking each other over there.
I f this team doesn’t make the playoffs or win a round the first thing I’d do is dump Tre, bring in Mark Hunter he’s got a great eye for talent. |

My question now is, who does CGY protect at the expansion draft on D? I always thought Ras Would be a lock given hes our only young, good right handed shot. But who else? Gio? Hanafin? Valimaki? Kylington? I can’t see them exposing Gio so we may lose a good young D? - TandA4Flames
7 forwards
3 Defence
1 goalie
Tkachuk
Gaudreau
Monahan
Lindholm
Backlund
Mangiapane
Dube / Bennett / Ryan
Anderson
Hanifin
Gio (out of respect unless he gives his blessing) then kylington?
Rittich ?
***valamaki is exempt as first or second year players are exempt and he has only played one year |

Are you sure if he doesn’t play any games he’d be exempt? He still is under contract and getting paid. |

By the time the draft rolls around, he could eclipse the 2 year pro mark though, no? 1 year in Stockton/NHL, parts of this season and a full 2020-2021?
Think you have to consider protecting your young guys, and offering up a pick to Seattle or a prospect of interest if you want to retain some vets like Gio. I think the Flames will also be forced to keep Lucic unless they convince him to waive his NMC.
If that happens, between Backs and Looch, the Flames will have to work the phones hard to keep their young guys for sure. |

Same, I don't think there's any way that they don't need to protect:
Anderson
Vali
Hanifin
Expose Gio and hope they take a Dube or Backlund off your hands instead. |

He has a NTC, doesn't he have to waive it for them expose him ? If so, the FLames could probably flip a mid round pick so they don't take him. Doubt they'd be all that interested in a 38 year old player anyway. |

Great signing will be a steal in a year or 2. Flames won't be bring both Hamonic and Brodie back next year, so Raz moves into the top 4 - K-man25
This is an excellent signing! Brody has been playing way better since he fainted. But still I would sign Hamonic before Brodie. And I must say I for one poop on gaudreau a lot mostly because of his physical play-and blind passes, but he does back Cheq well. And his last game was better he at least engaged more..... and that’s all I, And I would think most of os ask for. 3-1 flames tonight 5-3. Agents the coilers on Saturday

For sure, and I think I'd give Rinaldo another year too. Liking what he brings. |
