Le Boo Hoo Hoo no playoffs or Lafreniere pour vous - poopstash
Kovy looks great though, looks like it was just that poophole LA, should be able to move him for a free asset at the deadline. You were asinine to even think that was a bad deal for the Habs. More good asset management by Bergy
Pierre Boivin was phenomenal with no hockey background. Were you really happier with Ronald Corey? - muffin_man
As I said,
"Any team that has an owner or non-hockey person as President is not doing it right, in my view. Sure there are some exceptions..."
In my opinion, the President of a NHL hockey team should have deep knowledge of hockey and inherently have been in or around hockey operations for many years. Not a slick suit/or dress type person who knows how to run a business. Yes, when it comes down to it hockey is the entertainment business. The Habs have many revenue streams.
It was only yesterday the NHL renewed its partnership with Molson beers to be the official beer of the NHL. So yeah Geoff Molson has plenty other things on his plate. I'm sure he is also a member of several boards of different companies and institutions. The President needs to strictly be concerned with hockey operations... Geoff is not.
With regards to Pierre Boivin, if Wikipedia is correct, he still has remained with the organization as a member of the board of directors. So if he was such a phenom then why is he not helping turn this around? Could it be that Molson just does not listen? I'm not sure what it is but the Habs are a mess. It is a travesty to see such a storied franchise be run so haphazardly.

You thought the Lafreniere train was a joke? We are all in baby
I feel like we could see a few BergBombs coming up and closer to the draft

So in the span of about 2 months you’ve flipped from “Habs are second in the Atlantic, Stanley Cup contenders, Bergy is the best” to supporting full tank mode?
If your team is as good as you claimed 2 months ago why aren’t you calling for someone to be fired or traded?

For 2 years I've been pleading with Molson to hire Bobby Smith as President. I'm thinking it's falling on deaf ears.
I even sat next to Bobby Smith in a meeting about the Memorial Cup about this time last year, but did't have a chance (or the cajones?) to ask him what he thought of the idea.

komisally, i agree. bergy is doing great. would be a mistake for the habs to fire him.
"With the Canadiens last trade many fans are saying the team is officially in "Sell Mode"...as did I. But truth be told a source informs me that the Canadiens are not yet and in fact have had discussions on trades that would prove them out to be "very much a buyer."

Burkie dropping them cold hard facts as usual, saying Winnipeg is the closest chance at a Canadian team hoisting the Cup this year. Says Queefs are too soft not built for the playoffs....he's not wrong! Queef fans want him cancelled though because he's not slurping the koo-laid like everyone else on the network. Tow the line Burkie!

I don't think Winnipeg will even make the playoffs. That D is horrible. How can they get a pass on that?

Do you ever wonder why Burke doesn't have a job in the NHL?
Remember, this is the same guy that drafted Tyler Biggs ahead of Ricard Rakell, Nikita Kucherov and John Gibson. Are you sure you want to hang your hat on what he says?

irreleveant, your the one being an ass and the one cheering for a team that can't wint a playoff round for 20 years and with good line ups !
So chuuttt - Xizord
Sometimes things change, like Leafs finally having good ownership and management -much to the disappointment of haters like yourself. Sometimes history repeats itself like when Mario Tremblay (frank)ed the Canadiens and Roy left - is Carey Price going to do the same? This was 25 years ago. Good line ups or not, Canadiens are irrelevant now and may be for some time unless a few changes are made at the top.
I love how the Leafs can never, ever sniff the cup because of their D but Winnipeg can right now. That D is just horrible. They were carried by Hallbuyck in the 1st half. If his play keeps dropping they are not even good enough to make the playoffs.
