He’s leading the Canucks in assists this year, yes he’s not great defensively because he’s an average skater but you guys are focused on the wrong things imo. The Canucks are terrible defensively, that’s their biggest issue and that comes from poor structure.
- LeftCoaster

I agree here, now i’ll ask, who is responsible to create that structure?

They're lost. They're defending from the outside in. Even when they do collapse to the middle, they're horrendously late.
- Load Management

I can understand collapsing when defending on the PK, but when opponents enter the Canucks zone they collapse as a 5 man unit and do not pressure the puck at all. Way to much time and space, again I don’t like that system. Not projecting here, or venting, but I don’t like the coaching strategies.

Defence can lose a game
Offence can win a game
Cannot dig a hole cuz of defence & think offence can dig us out of it.

Baumer has to go. NB wouldn’t be missed either.

In that scenario Carlyle be an interim HC if nobody is hired til a thorough interview process happens. Other options is take a flyer on Burrows for HC.

That makes total sense, hire a dinosaur for head coach or give it to Burrows who has zero experience.

The lack of puck pursuit is definitely concerning, not just in the last 2 games, it has been a problem for most of the season.
Although the onus is on the coach for the type of systems, the GM needs to have players fast and quick enough to play the puck pursuit game.
Would players like Bailey and Jasek and Lind be quicker and more capable of this, over Schaller and Erickson, I would hope so, but, if the coach doesn't implement that style, then we will never know.

I also thought those were odd choices. I would be looking at Ryan Huska or maybe even Kevin Dineen.

Utica needs centre depth, they have been using Jasek and even Lind played centre last game.

My hope is the Canucks are calling up someone from Utica.

My ideas on coaches is for bantering purposes. It’s early stages only tossing out choices. Idk anything about say Huska but if he’s qualified for todays game to coach fine.

This early stuff is changes that might come later or sooner & I believe associate coaches is my preemptive action. TG could be close to follow maybe not. His situation is evolving or imminent change is coming.

Last 2 games we severely lacked poise & composure. JT & Edler are racking up PIMs of late. We still score 1st but all uphill right after. The PP has been off. Team D looks in shambles. PP is static & easy to defend. Tending of late isn’t saving our asses & is indicative the issues are upfront

I want changes. Fire Baumer. Replaced with Carlyle. Fire NB & hire Burrows. Demote MacEwen Schaller. Trade Stetcher. Call up Boucher Bailey & Rafferty. Don’t wait. 40+ games played & obvious a shake up is needed.

Carlyle is a strategist. Excellent at D systems.
If we got him he could run both the D AND special teams

No offense taken just spitballin. In the case of Burrows sure he is green, pun intended, but he also showed fantastic character as a player that i believe translates into coaching. Adding to that he is a Canuck in every way along with being a heart & soul winner. Now to being more practical it asks the question is he competent at this juncture of the teams development. That is what ppl many will scrutinize. Imo he can bridge his playing days into putting his stamp as a coach onto the team. Green has done this albeit a different route was taken. In Carlyle he was a very good puck moving creating offence D man in his day & has the coaching experience. The team of coaches can be dynamic if the right pieces are there.

Recent or past D man as GM’s or coaches...

Wilson
Tallon
Bergeron
Benning
Housley
Lowe
Quinn
Etc etc etc

Ignoring whether successful or not players evolve into coaches if they choose that path.
