Needs a talented passer, who can draw the other teams defenders. Wonder if H.Sedin would come out of retirement for the stretch drive...

Hey man, leave me out of your trolling of Vantel.

I had suggested weeks back that Gaudette should get a chance instead of Boeser on PP1. Tonight was the night.

Just too bad TG can't figure out not to play his number 4 defensemen the most in the game.

Or that Beagle, Schaller, and Motte are a 4th line that should play against other teams 4th lines as much as possible.

- manvanfan

Beagle, Schaller & Motte are probably one of the worst fourth lines in the league, it’s an issue for the team. We’re 19th in PK with all three of them killing penalties, they average 3 to 4 minutes a game on the PK.

38 games to go, I think they will need 96 points to make the playoffs. That’s 46 more points.

20-12-6

That seems like a tough ask to me.

Ferland Sutter Leivo would change that equation but you know ... Canuck luck.

How would the worst third line in the league change the worst 4th line in the league?

I just think there’s other things to focus on but you keep on Boeser’s ass. Jake is an issue because he was a 6th overall pick, although that’s probably more a Benning criticism.

Defensively the team is really weak, that’s our #1 issue. They’re giving up WAY too many opportunities to the opposition.

Despite the sh*t-kicking they’ve taken in Florida (and it has been!) I’ve been happy with the progress of most parts of their game. Yes, PP1 can be too static, but it also remains one of the better PPs in the league. Our defensive play in our own end, on the other hand, is really weak & passive.

Some people call it discussing a loss. But I dig the dramatic effect.

I'm fine with Motte. He's my idea of a realistic 4th line player in the league. Winger at least.

I'm still on team tank and selling old/expiring assets. Tanev, Edler, Beagle, Stecher if anyone wants him.

I just saw an article about LE being the winger Horvat needed all along. That was the title. I am guessing JD Burke wrote it. He did after all right that Ben Hutton was a top 4 defencemen.

Didn't you see Beagle steal a puck willing a goal and then holding a fire Green sign, post game, when Shorty said they need to work on systems...?

By becoming the 4th line that can consistently defend and sometimes score....

Cross continent road trip after the holidays, the boys are still working off that holiday turkey and egg nog.

Still not worried since the only clearly better team in the division is Vegas.

won 7 out of the last 9 games. I'll take it

This we can agree on. Should this be the only topic that I bring up from now on?
Also, I complimented Brock a few games ago, as I thought he had put together a nice run of games, and I am not even sure he got points in those games.

A trademark of young teams is bad defense, they'll get better with experience.

I am more than patient. I point out some weaknesses about a player doesn't mean I expect that player to correct them all at once.
I had Canucks at 89-91 points on the outside of playoffs, all is going as I thought, in that regard.
Wanting one of our better players to improve certain aspects of his game is not being impatient, as that is all part of the process.

Baumer runs the D.
Easy to say about the 4th line when Florida has last change. Line match ups on the road are not as easy as you make it sound. Still TG is the head coach & ultimately responsible.

Treat Brock as JV gets treated & ride anybody's ass that isn’t playing well. At least JV can chase down on the backcheck & isn’t gifted o-zone starts & PP time like the sheltered players.
