It’s not a charge he turns and actually slows down way before making contact with the freak show. The NHL has looked at it and obviously determined that Tkachuk did nothing wrong and Kassian is the one that deserves extra discipline

You mean when he takes 4 clear strides in towards Kassian after he notices he's about to be engaged in a puck battle behind the net? You can certainly make the argument it isn't charging, but it's definitely not a clear line as the definition I quoted above is rather vague. There doesn't appear to be a particular number of strides one needs to take nor is it disqualified from being charging simply because he didn't stride into him. Discretion calls and whatnot.

Are you really appealing to the authority of the NHL DoPS as if they don't make mistakes all the time?

Great game! Battle of Alberta is alive and well! We hate you you hate us, what better way to have a rivalry?
Can’t wait for the rematch, I’m sure they’ll be some fireworks! You guys should trade for Pouty Doughty, so you can have another whiny b!tch in the lineup.

Almost forgot, thanks for taking Pooparty instead!

It clearly wasn't a charge. 99 out of 100 times the refs aren't calling that a charge, so it's clear. Maybe they call it if he hit McDavid.

If you're going to quote the rule book, every single big hit is a charge since there's speed involved.

Just an outsiders view: Kassian and Tkachuk were straight up running each other, those weren't your everyday run of the mill body checks, they had bad intentions. If you're gonna go hit-for-hit with someone like Kassian, you gotta know he's gonna come after you at some point, and when he did, Tkachuk turtled. He got his team a very important power play, but made himself look like a little b**** in the process.

That's silly. If you're going hit for hit with someone and they hit you, hit them back. Tkachuk is the Flames' best player, why should he fight a 4th line goon after a clean hit? The goon always wins.

If Kassian really wants payback, he should have run Gaudreau or Tkachuk, but they're smart enough to keep their heads up.

Bingo. Tkachuk was happy to get rag dolled. I was disappointed in Kassian. Your a big guy bud, take his number and get him later. Now, if Tkachuk hit McD like that........I would want Kassian to do exactly that. But relax Kassian, your 13 goals aren't that impressive. You'd be a bottom 6 player on any other squad in this league. 2 crucial points that could mean alot for the oils later.

Tkachuk is hardly the Flames' best player. He's the new Sean Avery and one day, when hockey ends....little flea Tkatchuk will be where Avery is...which is riding a bicycle on a path in central park female doging at people still...both decent hockey players, both utter losers in life.

You are the guy who spends enough time on the internet to stalk Tkachuks extended family. You might want to take look in the mirror.

I thought the first big hit could have been called a head shot, and that last one definitely could have been called a charge. That said, he turned on both hits to insure that they were made with the body. Tkachuk did exactly what he intended to, got under Kassians skin until he did something stupid, and played it smart by not mixing it up afterwards.

Exactly. Tkachuk´s game plan was to get Kassian out of the game.

Lots of other ways Kassian could have acted and not put the Oil down a man.

I've been pretty awesome at pretty much every facet of life so far actually and I'm very grateful. Hopefully that continues for you and me both bud.

(but yeah, the Tkatchuk family are all losers).
