Fans can be funny with the value of players on teams they cheer for. Lias won’t talk with the Rangers is having surgery on his feet and they say there may be mental issues. I know let’s trade him because the other teams won’t figure it out - way out west
I saw somebody on twitter propose a Ranger trade and then say "and we'll throw in Lias Andersson as a sweetener"
a sweetener? what is he sweetening? he's like adding curdled milk to your coffee at this point
he's like 3 month old coffeemate hazlenut left in the sun |

If we are going to trade Georgi --- I don't think Oilers are a good partner for us. Puljujarvi doesn't interest me anymore since we can't see/evaluate him here in the NHL.
I think a great trading partner for us would be Ottawa.
They need a goalie to replace Anderson and Georgi will be cheaper $$ even on a RFA bridge deal. Senators are notoriously cheap. Brendan Smith has a contract structured so that he gets paid only $2.3 mill salary next season, but he counts as $4.5 on the cap. Smith has a 10 team NTC and I don't know who is blocked on it. He grew up 4 hours away from Ottawa so he may accept a trade there.
My proposal:
Georgi and Smith ( Rangers retain Smiths $1mill signing bonus for next year )
for
Shane Pinto
Pinto just had a great WJC and would replace Lias Andersson as a young center prospect. Deal opens up over $5 mill cap room for us next season.
Senators get a cheap starting goalie and an inflated cap figure to save actual $$$ paid.

I dont know about the Sens situation about their farm situation for goalies but that deal makes sense if they are in need of a goalie. Depends on how much they value Pinto. |

These trade proposals with Edmonton make no sense. Why would the Oilers trade for Georgiev now? Then they have 3 goalies to deal with. We would not be taking back Mike Smith or Koskinen so there is zero chance of these trades happening. After the season if they don't re-sign Smith, then yeah I can see it. But at this point there is no way this is happening. |

the team he built was really underwhelming so I'm not surprised. Maybe the timing as the TDL is coming up next month. |

Brendan Smith does have a 10 team NTC and I usually consider Ottawa by default on every one of those NTC lists though
