I don't think Georgiev alone lands Labanc. He's probably worth at least a first round pick. - eichiefs9
I actually agree with you there, but we've seen crazy things happen with players when teams are against the cap. Although I guess the GMs have been proven right, I was amazed that one summer when two teams gave Sam Gagner away after he was a consistent 40 pt guy. Lebanc is better than Gagner was comparatively at that time, but you wonder if his return is less than optimal given that the league knows SJ is pretty screwed.

I'll preface this by saying that I don't think they'd necessarily do this, but you gotta wonder if they don't consider selling on (more likely) Hertl or (less likely) Meier for a huge haul.
At this point, the only contracts that they could move to save any significant money are Couture/Kane/Karlsson/Burns/Vlasic/Jones and those would all be almost impossible to move, even if they didn't have some form of a NTC/NMC...which they all do. Hertl is 26 and it's sure looking like the Sharks are going to be bad for a long time, given their terrible system, severe cap issues, and no first round pick this year (and only two picks in the first four rounds). They could capitalize on him now and get a huge haul that would a) clear some cap space and b) restock the futures-cupboard significantly.
I do think Georgie would be relatively attractive to them since he won't cost very much to re-sign. They could go after a whale like Holtby in free agency this summer, but I imagine that since he has a Cup under his belt he'll be wanting top dollar and they definitely can't give that to him.

I really think Kane is the guy they need to trade. The bold thing would be to trade Hertl and Kane, but I think that Kane needs to be that goes. The problem with Kane though is he can submit a list of 3 teams that he can be traded too. You just wonder if any teams that he would approve would have any kind of cap space. I actually think you guys in the short term would be a perfect fit for Kane, and probably would be able to get them to take back Komarov as part of a nice package. Though I'm not sure if the Isles would want to give up the prospects that SJ would want or if even Kane would approve a trade there.

I would imagine that he likes it there and he's probably going to pick his three teams strategically so they really can't move him at all.
I wouldn't give them jack poop for Kane. He's trash and nobody needs that kind of cancer polluting the locker room.

Can't argue there, though I think that Trotz is a coach capable of handling him. I imagine the list of coaches that could control Kane start with Trotz, Torts, and Lavi.

He may be able to, but I'm not sure they want to inject a me-first guy into a team-first locker room. I sure as hell don't want that sewer rat anywhere near this team.
Not unless they eat half his contract AND take Komarov + very little else back, anyway
