I doubt Barrie is going anywhere.
just get a D somehow.
I'll settle for Dillon if it means it has to be done in the offseason. |

we'll see.
I wouldn't mind it so the money could go elsewhere. |

Tied in the overall standings. So what does that tell you? Cup contenders both I guess lol - Nighthawk
Kept hearing that from Hab fans a short time ago. Good luck with that.

I wanted him to be so much more than he is. Maybe he'll turn it around and show us something different in the next 40-60 games, depending on how far we go in the playoffs - but as it stands right now, I'll be glad to see him go when he does. |

A poor fit from day 1 when team D was the obvious problem. Move out a F contract. |

Agreed.
I am more than happy to keep his low cap hit and talent for a playoff run.
But as we stand today there are plenty more potential UFA's I would sign before him.
Maybe Dubas circles back to Brodie which was his first choice over Barrie. |

They tried to get Brodie and Kadri nixed the trade.
They still got a good player that they can plug into their top 4.
Good thing too because neither Sandin or Liljergen were ready. |

Brodie isn’t the answer. Trading Kadri was a set back imo. I know he wore out his welcome but hard to replace him. Engvall has been great.

What answer are you talking about? There is no answer to anything.
Brodie is a top 4 D man. Would he have been a better fit? Dubas sure thought so...There is no way of telling but one thing is for sure and thats the Leafs would be a worse team this season without Barrie.
And I moved on from Kadri...He wasn't very good in a 3C role behind Matthews/Tavares. He didn't add even close to the value he added as a 2C.

I'm with you on that, Kadri had to go.. I don't know the full details on the Calgary deal he rejected, not sure if it was Brodie and Jankowski or whatever, but I do like Kerfoot.
Barrie has been better on the PP, he just can't play 2 on 1's. |

I have been a Kadri fan/backer/arguer since he was drafted. there are some aspects I miss, and there are some (which turn out to be major ones) that I get pissed at thinking about. he really screwed his team 2 years in a row with selfish plays.
he did the same thing with Col a few games ago. His dumb plays cost his teams..a lot.
At this point I would probably reverse the trade if I could. but its still a pretty fair trade Kerfoot/Barrie vs Kadri |

Yep who knows.
I am glad the Leafs have Kerfoot over Janakowski.
Maybe there was an appetite for a contract extension on Brodie's part? If so I am sure that will be revisited in the future.
He is from Southern Ontario. He plays the right side and has proven to be able to handle tough mins. |

Naz has anger management problems.
He messages random girls and calls them female doges when they don't want to "hang out" with them. He did it to someone I know and I can tell you he has some anger problems that aren't just on the ice...
I don't doubt he is a good teammate but he has some issues and it follows him to his play on the ice and it has costed the Leafs and it'll cost the Avs too.
I am happy he is gone. |

Yeah, it was Jankowski supposedly.
He, who has 0G, 1A in 37 games and is -13. Not looking at anyone else on Calgary at all, and having not really watched them this year, I feel that I can safely conclude that all of their problems are solely his fault.
Whenever the Leafs hit on tough times the "you're really missing Kadri" comments seep out of the woodwork, but having watched Kadri since he was rookie . . . I am not sure what Kadri really brought that would help this team in a 3C role.
The grit? The big hits? The enforcement? The tough guy? The added scoring?
As a 3C, he wasn't adding much scoring. He was never as tough or as gritty as people thought - but he had a temper that got him into trouble. Having a bad temper doesn't make you gritty. It makes you a liability.
I thought he had nice hands, and you'd see some deft moves - occasionally, but not often enough - and he had a decent shot, and was a decent passer - but I grew weary of the flopping and falling and flopping and falling and falling.
And falling. |

Anaheim a much better trading partner than Calgary. Flames have realistic expectations of making the playoffs, Anaheim does not. Manson would be an ok target, big mean and will clear the garbage hanging around the front of the net. Not the best skater but brings more of what is needed than Brodie.

Manson has been playing pretty poorly the past few years.
In trading him you hope he returns to the level he played 3 years ago...
I'm not sure I want to commit money to a player like that with a good D man UFA class this summer.
If you want that type of player Dillon is the better choice...He has been better than Manson the past few years and is a UFA.
Dillon has improved the last 2 years and Manson has gotten worse. |

Apparently Shero presented Devils ownership group a plan to rebuild and ownership didn't want to rebuild so they both decided to part ways...explains the timing of the firing. |
