Where has he improved?
He has always been pretty decent at zone exits. He was good at that in his rookie season and he is good at that now.
He hasn’t been trusted with any more responsibilities than he was his first season. Keefe recently said before the Panthers game that they need Dermott to step up and they were going to finally test him.
Last game wasn’t a good start for him. - Santo_44
I mean I personally thought he looked better than rielly, Barrie, Holl, and marincin last night. But perspective is an opinion after all.
You can keep implying that both coaches have left him with sheltered minutes because they can't trust him, but I would say the idea that he's a 3rd pairing defenseman is more prevalent. His minutes have always been reflective of his role, it's not like he's been expected to play the first pair and can't get above the 3rd. |

dermott had giveaways in the playoffs that lead to goals. should have be a learning experience for him.
he's a veteran now. he needs to prove he learned from past mistakes. - Tumbleweed
Dermott also scored a massive game 7 goal and played great in 2018 playoffs, but Babs needed to keep playing Gardiner and his -5 that night. |

I have no doubt Hughes will only get better. I think he'll be better than Hischier. Who knows maybe he will even become a point-per-game player..

Not sure what more you can ask from a 19 year old defenseman with 70 points in 120 games. - AdamFrench
I know Dahlin will probably ask for a trade soon.. Follow in the footsteps of Ristolainen and Bogosian and a cast of other Sabres players |

(frank) man, enough with the you know it all and you're always right routine. It's pretty tiring.
If you know as much about hockey as you think you do then why aren't you employed as a coach/GM/or executive by the NHL? - Kinger34

he made a lot of shifty/sneaky little plays in the neutral zone to push the play up ice. drew a penatly. had one bad pinch, but made a lot smart plays at the blueline otherwise.

dermott was far and away the leafs best dman last night. - Tumbleweed
Wait wait wait
So we are allowed to use those stats to show Dermott played okay?
But not the rest of the team?
The leafs owned the panthers in quality chances. Not just when Dermott was on the ice. |

It's only a matter of time I guess.. Must be something in whatever water Buffalo has left..
I could be wrong, but I think it's; Player asks for a trade, management begs them to reconsider, then never trades that player when he doesn't change his mind. |

Both Keefe and Babcock has trusted Marincin over Dermott when injury has arisen.
Like I said last night was one of the first games we’ve seen Dermott trusted with a larger role. |

I wonder if that makes the player devalue. Is Ristolainen a worse asset now then when he intiially asked for a trade? If say he likely is. Buffalo i Buffaloing themselves. |

Sandin’s callup for TOR might mean Morgan Rielly’s injury from last night is no bueno. Suspect we will find out soon.

Berglund retired instead of playing for Buffalo
Bogosian, Ridriguez and Ristolainen have asked for trades.
Echiel has his yearly hissy fit at the end of every season.
Maybe Buffalo is just a poopty place to play? |

I would still like Ristolainen on this Leafs team.
If Buffalo was willing to move him; I'd do Barrie, Bracco and Brooks.. |

Welp.
Might speed up the process to get a D....I think it’s time to have Rielly heal up anyways. He looks so bad out there. |

Sadly, no... Has tried to trade himself, but was told he can't go the full 100% on salary retention. |

Hey everybody, I'm running a new hockey pool.
$100 per square.
Circle which game Leafs Nation turns on Sandin for making rookie mistakes, calls him a bust and runs him out of town.
I've got February 20, 2020 vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins. |
