Yeah, but it would probably cost more than Dubby wanted to pay..
Question is, does he need to make a move out of desperation? - PatC80
put rielly on shelf until April. let him rest his knee.
use the $5M in LTIR space to trade for somebody. Ship Ceci out and make it $9M.
welcome to toronto, pk subban.

With Rielly and Muzz out, the Leafs have a combined Cap Payroll of 10mil on the back end. - AdamFrench
Yeah, but the bad news is they are only worth $6 million. |

We haven't had a spin-o-rama guy on the team since Grabvoski left, PK Subban would go a long way filling that role |
|

We already don't have our 1st round pick from this year (and we didn't have it last year, either).
Our prospect pool has the depth of a puddle right now: Sandin, maybe Lillybust and Robertson.
Now is not the time to be a debbie downer. - Atomic Wedgie

Leafs better get their poop together by thursday, or else I might have to take a poop in the SBA concourse - TheMussel
I wonder how they play this?
Does Dermott get on the top pairing now?

Marincin-Barrie
Sandin-Ceci? |

With Rielly out of the lineup, the defenceman with the most games played for the Leafs is Travis Dermott (134) who narrowly edges out Martin Marincin (130). Third is Justin Holl, who has less than one full season of NHL games played for Toronto (57).
everything is fine, right? |

Wow. That's gonna hurt.
On the bright side, I guess it opens up some cap room for a TDL acquisition?
On a realistic side, and echoing what someone else said - hopefully he can get over the other problems he's had and come back for the playoffs healthy. - Monkeypunk

Yes. Dermott has more games than Marincin, despite the fact that Marincin has been on the team for twice as long.
The world still makes sense. |

Maybe not a desperation move, but have to think the Leafs will now have to overpay for a guy like Brendan Dillon.. Why would the Sharks help us?
Sure, we gave them Marleau back, but is that enough for them to help us out? |

you can patrick kane him to the playoffs. salary cap in the playoffs is like class on sunday....there is none.
or assume someone else can be put on ltir to make room for reilly to come back.
if rielly's knee needs the rest, then not much downside. |
