I'd like the Habs to go after Lias Anderson. He asked for a trade and is still very young and with a lot of potential... |

Very sad but the concussion history is probably why we traded him when his stock was high...that's why i was on board with that move. That being said, I do hope he's able to come back - Karine Hains
Do you think they could still move Byron or it' s too late now?
When is he coming back? |

Don't know much about him but I would tend to agree, if the price is right.
2nd round pick? |

Probably more, a 2nd + a prospect. Don't really know how they value him though. |

Would probably be wiser to wait at the draft. If he can have a good end of the season it might increase his value. |

Andersson couldn't score in the AHL and requested a trade when he felt he wasn't getting enough ice time in the NHL
And using Drouin might not be the best example, as he really been that good since they got him? |

I think the window to trade Byron is closed now... he had injury issues in Calgary, then got healthy here but now he's often injured and his stock decreased massively at the start of the year. After 2 20 goal season and one of 15 in 56 games, he was probably hoping to be given a more offensive role and wasn't...he looked lost out there this year. If he is traded, won't be for much unfortunately. The fact that they gave him an A though means that he's probably loved in the room... |

Yeah, keep him for now. Unless you really need the cap space. |

it was to park him on LTIR, not to be an active player. Byron will return and in what capacity and will he ever produce or in his case, get his speed back. |

So you're telling me that it says in the CBA that you can only trade an injured player if he's never gonna play again?? |

And the team acquiring him must be aware of the injury and like in all trades, the player must go through a complete physical.... but you absolutely can trade an injured player |

you can trade injured players but the example you gave teams paid other teams to take on dead wood for cap space. In the case of Byron, his career is not over yet, at least they are telling us he should be back. You will have to pay a team to take on the risk of his contract at this point, I am not sure MB wants to pay a team with picks or prospects to take on his contract at this point, not with the teams cap space situation and the need to accumulate picks and prospects, it's the exact opposite of what they are trying to do. |

So in conclusion.... you can trade an injured player |
