Bill Comeau came back out with his chartz for this year

It is fun to look around, you have to read them carefully but Deangelo or Demelo on a lesser scale would be great adds. Both under 1 million so they would ot have to trade Ceci. |

Having a visit from Salming once in a while in the locker room might do wonders... - 21peter
wouldn't hurt.. particularly if the 70year old walks in and out works them in the gym.
and someone should tell Nylander that Salming was the underwear model... and he ain't pretty.

If the Leafs are starting to talk new contract with Muzzin, I would hazard a guess it means they aren't planning on bringing Barrie back. - Atomic Wedgie

True, but under Keefe they are playing at a 116 point season pace.
That's not too shabby. - Atomic Wedgie
True - but as Mussel pointed out, and I agree with - I am cautiously optimistic. The reality remains that Florida (2 games in hand) is 3 points behind the Leafs with 3 games remaining against the Leafs, Carolina is tied with the Leafs and Philly is 2 points back with a game in hand. It wouldn't take much to knock Leafs out of a playoff spot. |

I suggested Demelo a few days back... I think he's one of those quietly effective not flashy guys...
and I don't believe he would cost as much as DeAngelo. |

whooooo!
oilers hockey. let's go.
nhl needs moar scoring.
gretzky's records are untouchable. but it's kinda (frank)ed up that ovi and crosby may not make the top 10 in all-time scoring. |

I'd assume so.
Leafs don't/won't need Barrie next year. He is really only a PP specialist, and I have no doubts Sandin can full that role and more next season. |

I mean at 2.75 million it is a no brainier to keep him for a playoff run. He is much better on the PP than Rielly(this year) and he provides some great things as well as some bad things 5v5.
It'd be awesome to get a player who can play next to Rielly and have Barrie get some sheltered mins with his PP time the same. - Santo_44
I completely get that acquiring him at that cost was a good move... but looking forward he reminds me in so many ways of Gardiner... and unfortunately those are not good "ways". Brain farts, bad choices, and soft soft plays in your own zone.
So yes his CAP hit fits in nicely... but I would hazard the following:
1) Barrie's powerplay minutes could be EASILY taken by Sandin and Rielly
2) Barrie is not a viable option on the PK
3) Barrie has questionable viability 5-5
so.... I would hope that Dubas would consider moving Barrie at/near the deadline - to potentially recoup something for a FreeAgent that you aren't likely to want to sign - even if you could fit him in under the CAP.
would the Leafs really miss him in a playoff series? |

Well Deangelo is a piece that will be playing for the Leafs beyond this year...If he costs Kapanen and a pick I would do it. Anymore than that I'll pass on it.
Demelo isn't bad...His numbers are good for being on a terrible team |

I beg to differ on that one....I am starting to realize Rielly wasn't even that good on the PP. He has no shot whatsoever and Barrie is better at distributing the puck to the wings...moving forward into next season I hope Sandin is our number 1 PP guy
I think he is valuable to the team, I wouldn't trade him.
Keep him as a rental. |

I proposed this last week, and I will propose it again:
Ceci for Gardiner. |

I would do it, but doubt Carolina would. They have oodles of cap space with Marleau's hit coming off the books and Gardiner is worth his contract to many teams. Why would Carolina do this?

Heard from somewhere that If the Leafs were under Keefe since the start. Estimated total points so far was 67 and tied for first overall with Washington an St.Louis. Again pretty impressive improvement. Not sure if true but sounds close.

They could add both Demelo/Hainsey but is Dubas mean enough to send Ceci back |

Demelo costs Timo and a 2nd.
Add in Hainsey and I dont know?
I think you might have some interest from playoff teams with cap space on Ceci |

this would be a win on so many levels for the Leafs...
1) Ceci's contract / CAP hit gone
2) Ceci gone and replaced by Demelo... which would clearly illustrate just how overpaid Ceci was/is
3) Hainsey would make Marincin go away - which simply put cannot be a bad thing. |
