I don't understand how Parros can let the Virtanen elbow slip by without suspension or even a fine. I think Parros will not have a job next year, he hasn't done well in the role.

I get it that you're not a Chevy or Maurice fa. Trust me!

Your offer, not bad, but I, as GM, would not give up my 2020 1st rd pick. How about tweaking this to: K. Vesalainen (former 1st rd'er who's not a Panarin), 2nd rd pick, rights to Samberg (if "no" to Wpg), and rights to Buff?

That's a pretty good haul for the Wild. So basically a 1st, 2nd, Samberg and Buff. Now what's the deal with Dumba is the question for the Jets?

Have to remember that we can only protect 3 d-men at expansion draft.

That's why Chevy won't make a move for a D with term or sign one this off season. If they did then they might as well trade Niku cause that would be who Seattle takes.

That's kind of what I was thinking/wondering as well. The Expansion Draft kind of changes things or one's thinking at least.

I don't think they should trade the 2020 1st either.

So maybe the 2021 1st plus something else, maybe an Appleton, this is under the assumption the Wild are looking to get younger but they're in a weird spot with the ages of some of their guys plus the money/term left on Suter and Parise, maybe they're looking to retool rather then rebuild because of those two but who knows.

So something like: 2021 1st, Samberg, 2020 2nd, Appleton? Does that even sound like enough to get it done? I'm not exaggerating that's what I think it'd take so at what point is it too much?

I think they'd be better off to look for a cheaper acquisition cost dman then Dumba would be.

Maybe something like that to get it done but am really adverse to trading a 1st rd'er, it may be very valuable - would have to be "top 5 protected."
Rather make it Vesalainen, 2020 2nd, Appleton, and Berdin? Wild need young goalie. Need that 1st rd'er this year to draft best C available.
But Dumba, young, tough, RD and was/is skilled. Is he still skilled? Is there a better acquisition out there that makes more sense? If so, go for it, yes.

Heard this morning that Maurice was going to go back and forth with Harkins-Bourque. I'm assuming he wants to keep them both "game ready."

Personally I would dress Harkins every game unless injured.

That is a gargantuan overpayment. I would feel nervous as all hell about either of Vesalainen or Berdin in a 1 for 1 for Dumba

Really? One for one - you wouldn't make that deal, if cap space made sense? Vessy is not going to be a Panarin.

Messy game tonight! Can well be sellers at deadline.

Who are the Jets going to sell at the deadline? I am really curious as to who other teams would want.

Looking at the score it almost appears as if the Jets were playing the Buccaneers as opposed to the Lightning. Did not think this team would give up a touchdown to a team that was playing on the second half of a back-to-back.

I know you guys are happy with Pionk overall but, him leading your team in icetime is probably not the way to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning

Sell?
Kulikov
Perreault
Rights to Samberg?
Byfuglien
Lowry?
Brossoit
Beaulieu
Sbisa

No, not a whole bunch, but guys like Byfuglien and Perreault could bring a pick or two, and everyone is always looking for a depth d-man. Get whatever! Need to find out about Samberg's commitment.

Wouldn't sell the farm but pieces that can be replaced.

That was never the plan for him, he should be our third D after Morrisey and Buff but Buff no shows this year and Morrisey is having a bad year and all of a sudden Pionk is our best.
I don’t see anything changing this year but next year this D will look drastically different Again.
I expect one new face via trade/free agency, heinola, Samberg and a full year of Niku.

Obviously the biggest piece and question mark is Buff, I am hoping he comes back and gets traded.

Kulikov I think will be dealt

Broisent is at 50/50 of being moved

Perreault and Beaulieu will be available but I don’t think any one bites, no one will want Beaulieu cause he sucks and no one will want the one more year of Perreault’s contract

I don’t think they will but if a team offers a good price I could see the Jets tempted to move Lowry.

If someone had a young D not in their playoff plans right now that the Jets really liked ( say a Bean / Honka type ) they may consider moving Roslovic for that type of player. Or if we are out and the Oil are in would Puljo for Roslovic be looked at?

Yikes, the Jets look like they came off a 13 day road trip and on a back to back.

At this rate, the team is picking 13th in the draft. Might as well sell and tank.

The team will have to do something for the betterment of a defence in terms of acquiring some NHL calibre defence for next season.

Running 3 experienced challenged NHL'ers (Pionck, Morissey, Poolman), 1 has been NHL'er (Kuli), 1 future NHL'er (Niku) and an assortment of on the bubble waiver wire pickups like Sbisa, Dalstrom, and off season season signings of other marginal NHL cast offs like Bitteto and Beaulieu just ain't cutting the mustard.

If they can sell, might as well sell. This team finishes at 42 33 7.

Buff - yes, back and deal - maybe a 2nd and/or the young d-man you mention later? Could be our big chip.

Kulikov - I agree he will be dealt - what, 3rd or 4th?

Brossoit - teams always looking for back-up goalie for playoffs

Perreault and Beaulieu - hoping someone needs that kind of piece - gritty forward or depth d-man

Lowry - think Gustafsson is being groomed for this spot here. Maybe a prospect or d-man?

Roslovic - I do my best not to trade Jacko. I know you need to trade value to get value, but a lot of untapped potential here. A big "no" to Puljujarvi. Maybe a summer time decision on Jacko? What will he ask for next year in $$$?

Or maybe the Jets go on a run and are playoff bound? They are unpredictable and have easier schedule coming up in Feb.
