bloomberg is the only one who has a shot IMO
these dems are attracting a couple of hundred on the trail while trump fills arenas - homiedclown
I don't read too much into that.
The Republicans know Trump is going to be their candidate, like him or not.
The Democrats are still up in the air until their convention. Once a candidate is elected, the "Never Trump" crowd will be out in full force. Not saying it will be enough, but that's how these always work.
It's pretty bad but I find myself more interested in the mechanics of what ends up happening versus interest in voting for a particular candidate.
The way Tulsi Gabbard has miffed the Democratic party is nothing short of fascinating. |

Not the first time you mentioned him, I just don't see why Florida would trade him. Their center depth that you mentioned would take a big hit if he's traded (he's their #2 and frankly I don't think it's as deep as you claim). He has the best Corsi and Fenwick on the team and wears the "A". Not to mention the fact that they are in the playoff hunt and just a few points ahead of us.
We should just go after Monahan in Calgary, Girioux in Philly, Point in TB or Kuznetsov in Washington. They are all pretty good 2Cs and those teams are pretty deep at center as well. - adambuffalo
I have a better chance of banging Jennifer Lawrence tonight then the sabres have of getting Trocheck |

As for contract value, I did a quick Armchair GM roster that included
-paying Sam $7.5M
-bridge deal for Dahlin at around $5.5m -6.0M for 3 years
-resigning Montour for $5.5m, Larsson for $1.9m, and Lazar for like $1.375m
-traded Risto (could be switched with Montour)
The results were the Sabres could afford a 2C at $7m-$8m.
So that would be my upper limit there.

Just curious, what was the Risto trade and what kind of raise did you give Olofsson, Mitts, Ullmark and Pilut? |

I disagree. He would be an upgrade over Erod and a couple other players
And if it doesn’t work ...... you let him walk after the season is over. No harm done.
Gally has had 46, 56, 44, 51, and 41 point seasons during his career.
That is better than a lot of current Sabres players
Gally has 16 points this season. Which isn’t great. But it’s better than vesey okposo Larsson girgensons lazar (he was in roch) Erod and asplund |

He's on his 3rd team and plays on the 4th line with the Penguins, what does all this tell you. If you're going to make a deal to better this team then make it count, enough with the trash, boarder line players. |

But how many top 6 players? If you go by "pace", which isn't always the best measure, it's Skinner (who is injured) and Sheary.
Galchenyuk has largely got top 6 minutes (with the exception of this year). If he doesn't, those totals go down. I'm not opposed to the idea of him, but his impact will not be significant. |

Then it becomes, yeah, a below average 2C is fine and all, and we still suck, and realize we need a lot more than a below average 2c
I wouldn't trade a single player on this team for Henrique.
Bonino and Zajac would be fine I guess. But god damn, the standards are low here. They're middle 6 Cs, but at least they're short term enough to be a stopgap. But they're generally 3Cs, and you all need to know it. - TheSabresTaco

The penguins are in a much different situation than the Sabres. So I think it says that the pens have better player depth than the Sabres.
We could use gally and his career average in points. |

Just having a natural center at that position, getting johanson back to his natural position.. even if its not a bonafide 2C it still makes us better than having johanson there. - SabresFaninIndiana
Isn’t Johansson’s “natural position” Center? |

Trocheck is my #1. No one I'd rather go after more than him. Age, ability, contract, tradability (injury history) and center depth the Panthers have all make him a worthy target. The guy's a 2C's 2C. - TheSabresTaco
