Isn't now a sorta bad time to start talks with Muzzin? I feel like he has the upper hand in negotiations with the defence being in the state it is in. Desperation is a stinky cologne. - Salami_Tsunami
Contract negotiations aren't exactly based on "well the team really needs dmen for the next two weeks so the price goes up for the next 4 years". |

If Muzzin's agent tried that, I'm sure Dubas would say "Let's talk again in 3 weeks" |

Domi has 2 less hits so far this season than Matthews?
Weird for someone who plays with an "edge". - LeafGuy89
I thought he was one of the league's premier #1C though.
On the bright side for the Habs, they are going to get him cheaper than they thought on his next contract.

Dubas hasn’t been rash rushing into trades. I see him either biding his time & running with this group while players heal or makes a trade for a solid 5/6 D man. Guessing Johnsson is involved. Waits for prices to level off but it’s hard to predict atm what or if more teams will become sellers. With Keefe saying they won’t alter their playing style it puts the onus on the team to clean up their team D. I think a back up G is more likely to be next. Eg the KHL is my guess he’s looking to. |

Well does it matter that the Leafs are short dmen BECAUSE the guy in question is not playing? Surely that will cut the contract in half right? $2M over 4 years? |

Regardless of the past, it's what got us to Nylander, Matthews, Marner and Tavares! - Aaron_85
it would be great if anaheim poop canned murray and promoted nonis to gm:
ceci, johnsson, marchment, goat and Kaskisuo
for
manson, kase, ritchie, miller and l.dostal
would be more than just a pipe dream |

He seems to prefer making deals in advance of the deadline. I suspect he is awaiting until after the all star/bye week to see where his injured players are before making decisions. |

I can see them taking Ceci back if they aren't retaining salary for next year too.
Clears a lot of space for Montreal next year.
Side note: I find it funny they have 4.4 million buried in the AHL. |

Id do Ceci for anderson sttaight up. Then end all trade talk with columbus. Enqvall is fine as our number 3 center between kapanen and johnson. We dont need jenner. Mikayev joins tavares and nylander. Keep hyman matthews and marner together. Anderson can fill in for mikayev till hes healthy.
Trade kerfoot, bracco plus dermott for a dman.
Dress liljegren and sandin fpr the rest of the season. |

Why would CBJ trade Anderson for a dumpster fire like Ceci
Needs a sweetener like Bracco
Jenner>Kerfoot as 3C |

Keefe switched Kerfoot and Engvall for some of the game on Tuesday against the Devils.
Engvall-Tavares-Nylander
Johnsson-Kerfoot-Kapanen
I'm good with either lines but the ones posted above I really like.
I wanted to see how Engvall would do on that line and he didnt disappoint. I hope they play the whole game together tonight! |

If Bracco is also in the deal then Dubas requires a 7th round pick to make it 5 picks in that round this year. He looks at draft picks like pokemon because he's so young. Gotta catch them all. |

sandin looks like he's going to be a star.
but before we put his name in ink on the roster for the rest of the year, let's see how sandin does against a more physical team; particularly one more than half a step up above an ahl quality team.
i'm not sold on him being able to handle a physical playoff series just yet. |

I hearya there. It still isn’t a great market out there yet. Just my opinion this TDL will go down to the wire with so many teams on the bubble. |

I like watching TSN on deadline day. What I wish though is they would start the show later on. 8 or 9am is too early. Nothing happens. Bigger deals are done days - weeks in advance these days. |

After last year's gamble Columbus is doing pretty well in their cap situation as well as their picks. They are only missing this years 2nd and 3rd. Next years 2nd. Still have their first this year and the next two.
They could easily do some damage in the next 3 years. |

easily knocked off the puck, falls down at lot and takes a lot of penalties. i don't like him at C at all.
he seems to fit in well with tavares and willy though |

Sharks are starting up individual player goal songs. By next season it will be that way for every team I think. |
