Philly drafted Nolan Patrick at number 2 and they managed to still find a way to field a competitive team.
What the heck is going on up in Buffalo - washedup20
One more year with Brandon would have been best for him. Should eventually reach the level of our former #2 who benefitted from one more year in the WHL.
The Flyers are built mostly with their own draft picks. Voracek was traded for with a 1st that became Couturier for a former 1st round pick in Carter.
Basically the team is built through the draft.
Edit:
They've had issues with goaltending for years and seemed to always bring the wrong guys in.
Also, they are on their 5th coach in 10 years. |

I'm pretty neutral on Daboll but why would the Giants even ask if they can hire a guy to do the same position but with them? Just goofy |

adam, McCabe, I would argue, is not our best defenseman by a long shot, but he contains more value to this team than Ryan Reaves. Especially if they were swapped for each other. No salary relief, and the team ultimately gets worse.
You simultaneously inject zero offense and promote a worse defenseman in Bogo. |

They're not doing their job if they don't ask. Just like our buddy Jason. Occasionally, if teams are sick of the status quo, they'll let guys go to see if they can be better. Clearly they like Daboll. And they should. He does a lot more good than bad. Still needs work sometimes.
We get frustrated at some of the plays he calls, but Sal or Joe or Fairburn or Tasker are able to explain why they do some of the seemingly goofy things. Some stuff they can't explain, some they can.
Not like you've got Freddie Kitchens back there. Christ. |

Do you sign Ullmark to a long term deal knowing UPL is on the way? - RhinoFan
IMO.. you don't sign goalies to long term deals unless its under 4 mil.. they are too up and down and one injury can ruin them but not end their career, see rick dipietro and cory schnieder |

Allen improved under him year-over-year. That's good enough for me for now |

facts.
Sometimes you have an absolute elite goalie, and you sign those guys long term. Rinne, Rask, Price, Bob, Quick..
But then, more likely than not, you're going to regret that contract. Price, Bob, Quick.
Rinne and Rask have worked out well. Miller worked out well.
If your goalie is not a top 5 in the league and not in his 20's, don't waste the (frank)ing money. |

(frank) Gase with a rusty pitchfork.
Improved personnel and more development time for Allen will make Daboll look even better.
When you have Frank Gore literally breathing his last NFL breaths in the backfield, everyone looks like a moron.
And I'm a massive Gore fan. |

How many of those goalies won a cup after they were paid higher salaries? I’ll hang up and listen.

The guy is an elite backup rb.
Also, I dare you to tell me Brandon Beane wouldn't want him. He wants a leader in there, and there's no free agent leader bigger than him. I guarantee you, they will pursue him. |

Need a stop gap for a year until UPL is ready.
Hopefully Ullmark wants a 1 year deal |

There's no way he has earned a big salary or a big term yet. I don't think anyone should worry about it.

what 'starting' rb is going to sign in a place where he's assured to be a backup? |
|
|
|
I’m not convinced that Botts will try for the playoffs next year either. I think he’ll re-sign several of the players already here. He’ll count on a couple young guys coming up and making a difference. Nothing dramatic, and not enough to surpass TB, BOS, TOR, or FLA. |

i could see that contract but he is going to want more like 3.5 since he is basically the starter now. I just don't think he is worth over 3 mil.. he just cant get up once he goes down and that is going to start getting exposed more and more when people start looking at the tape |
