my biggest issues

he did nothing when the team was fading in December last season
he did nothing when the team was fading in late November this season

2 times, the team jumps out hot

then the team folds

bring in vesey and miller, but bury them

it's almost as if the coach and gm are not on the same page

Any idea of who they are trying to unload from the scrap heap?
Is Miller on that list
We know Bogo and ERod
But who else is he focused on?

You'd think those are the three names on the top of the list. Miller could have some interest from somebody for a 4th or worse. Hard to picture anyone wanting either of the other two.

Sure and I’ll be the first to remind everyone one here when we are winning and praising the new GM that it was because of Botts’ patience and drafting.

If Botts wears the hat for the teams failures this year, why does he not get credit for Dahlin ?

Dahlin is his major "accomplishment"

Just like Murray gets credit for Eichel and Reinhart, and Darcy gets credit for Risto and Ullmark

Now I can’t fix your perception of last season, however the team was not fading from December on. The team flat out sucked from beginning to end and got incredibly lucky with a 10 game winning streak based off of unsustainable goaltending and 49 years worth of luck in the months of October and November.

From last year’s opening night lineup to this year:

Kruguer >> Housley (we are one of the best defensive teams in hockey)

Joker>>>> Nelson

Montour >>>>> Bogo (although Bogo still has gotten his fair share of games due to the 11/7)

Olofsson- benefitted from additional development time

Mojo- sensible free agent signing with minimal term which doesn’t handcuff us long term and good top 9 forward once he moves back to the wing.

Lazar- Fantastic 4th liner if we can get rid of Okposo’s contract (thanks GMTM)

Asplund- getting playing time and taking the next step in his development curve.

What moves were we making last year to make the playoffs with a team on pace for sub 70 points from December on ?

Losing for Cozens was the most sensible move unless you wanted to go Full Murray last year.

The magical thing about Botts is that he's never responsible for failure. It's either:
-Murray's fault
-fans are too stupid to realize how awesome his moves actually were
-fans are being too impatient
-how was he supposed to know his new players would regress
-he never intended on having a good team anyway

Botts is nowhere even close to being fired, yet he enjoys some Christ-like martyr status among some. As if, whenever the team achieves above-averageness, it'll be because Botts dies for our sins.

I've typed and deleted a rant twice.

(frank) it. Here's the gist:

The 2 forward lines that work, Ralph's favorite pair and the starting goalie were handed to him. 11/23 players arent his.

Before anyone blames Murray for that, I know all of the excuses. I dont give a poop. Make something that works after 3 years.

It's just madness. Madness

So...
Who's rooting for the Sabres to win tonight?
A win is fun to watch. A loss is better for the tank.
If Jack were to be injured for the rest of the year, that would also be highly beneficial to the tank, right?

If Eichel gets 2 points .... we will win. If he gets 0-1. We will lose

I would never, ever, ever cross that bridge. Wishing or being thankful for injuries is a moral bridge too far

Wins and losses are kind of irrelevant at this point though. It seems exceedingly unlikely the Sabres are making the dance

So sad that botts gets to let another season rot away like it doesn’t matter. I get you don’t want a tim Murray rush and make irrational decisions. But come on!

I'm rooting for a win, have since the Eichel tank years.
It doesn't bother me that other fans see it differently and hope for losses to move up the draft order though...to each their own.

Also, I don't care where they land this year anymore, been that way since no trade at the Xmas break. I projected the team would finish at 82-84 points based on the late Sept roster...and they are tracking right on it.

If they get a high pick, great. If not, Botts has more work to do...he should be up for it.

STH if they had brains would revolt and demand a partial refund for the past 2 seasons. It is quite obvious now they had zero, zip, nada, no intention of improving the team to the point they talk about.."expect to make the playoffs". Bullpoop, gross and very misleading . I'd be pissed throwing good money after bad at this organization.
But, to each their own.

I see a massive drop in STH. Not to mention the prices for alcohol / food and an arenas that is a complete dump.

And whom ever does the Sabres game day programming should be fired.

I hope he is up to it, everybody has there opinions on what has been done, hasn't been done, what should be done. We all come on here with are opinions, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter what we want, the only thing that I control is turning on the MSG Network and hopefully seeing a good game.

Hes a franking moron who has no ability to think on his feet because he is such a franking moron. If anything good comes out of his moves (which hasn't yet), it is completely out of happenstance. He has no clue. I'll take GMTM all day. He would've been able to rebuild the cluster frank this franking putz created at least 2 times over by now. Just like any GM worth his weight in salt.

Nothing is worse than reading takes from someone claiming to be an insider use the emoji and claim to know that GMTM operated like he knew he wouldn't be fired. Listen to GMTM's last presser and get back to me if you think he didn't think he could be fired when he told everyone in the room he might not come back after his trip to Florida. poop canned for not firing Bylsma. Biggest blunder in history of Sabres existence. Set the org back at least 20 years. Such a Raw Deal.
