Good, I didn't watch the game but so far he looks good out there. Lacks finish but almost all Habs players do as well so.... |

I like his game a lot too, he does need to be a bit more aware of oncoming hits out there and it would be great to see a few more points but I think that will come |

Lehkonen proving his value over and over.
If next season is similar to this one, how much do you think he gets? He doesn't strike me as a player that Julien and Bergevin would let go or trade unless it's a great offer. |

Speaking of Lekh might get his 20 goals.
By saying this he probably will go on a 20 game goaless streak |

Martin Leclerc has an interest take on it, now that they are pretty much out of the playoff race, do you sent KK, Poehling, Suzuki, Mete, Fleury down to Laval to make the playoffs and maybe win a calder cup?
Give Alzner, Barber all the other good vets a candy and let them finish the season in the NHL, get a good draft pick. - Fredo
Habs still believe they can catch up to the 8th place, with Drouin and Gallagher coming back after the break and Price finally playing decent...they will make a push. |

I mean, even if he has a 13g 16a season...he's still valuable, I think. |

He never hurts you but those are 4th line numbers and he's more a guy you wish he can play a regular spot on your third line and help out once in a while on the top 6. |

Yeah, but that's a pessimistic scenario since he's pacing for 18g 20a.
Also it might be because we've had Flynn, Mitchell, Malhotra, Thompson, etc on the 4th line in recent years but I'd say 29 points make for an average 3rd liner. |

How do you build a winning mentality when both the big club and farm club miss the playoffs constantly - Fredo
I heard Martin Leclerc this morning saying at some point they should send all the kids back to Laval so that they could make the playoffs and live a "positive" experience together. A very unpopular take since we all want to see the kids with the big club but I understand the logic behind it. |

Wouldn't be the end of the world. Julien would be happy, he'd be able to play his sucky veterans (Weal, Cousins, etc) instead of kids. |

Jesus, you (frank)ers are whiny this morning. The team wins a solid game, you're all, "Why can't they lose properly?", they lose to Chicago and y'all are moaning how much they suck. I'd rather see them play .500 hockey boost our tradeable assets for a decent return at the deadline, or, God forbid, start winning games, sertraline into the playoffs with what we've got (not giving up prospects and picks for a temporary run), squeak into the playoffs, and maybe make some noise.
As for the whole Shea not being a fighter, not standing up for teammates, he takes numbers and makes em pay on the ice. KK stood up, and lay a beating, but also was off the ice for 17 minutes, languishing in the box, instead. I'd be more pissed if our defacto number one defenseman was in the box for 17 minutes because he decided to take Hagg to the woodshed. That would make no sense for the team at all.
I think the odds of them making the playoffs is low, but let's at least boost our assets. Just saying. |

i think they will give themselves a window to close the gap before mass AHL demotions. |

While I agree in part with what you're saying, who are the "tradeable assets" exactly? Some teams will obviously inquire about Kovalchuk, but other than that you're talking about Tatar, Gallagher.... ? You could trade Nate Thompson but this won't bring in a top pick

And KK handled himself quite nicely during that fight. It may not completely shut up the "we should've drafted Tkachuk, KK is a wussy" naysayers, but still. |

True enough, but anyone is tradeable, and if for nothing else, MB has shown that when he makes a ballsy trade (Pacioretty, Subban), he tends to come out on the winning side of the deal. Hate the 4th line moves, and those sweet, sweet signings ala "The REAL" Karl Alzner, but when he swings for the fences, those jacked up arms help him hit em out of the park. |

Trade Tatar, keep Kovalchuk on the 1st, Drouin will play on the 2nd once he comes back. If they can get a 1st or a good D prospect for Tatar I'm all for trading him. |

I wouldn't put my hopes up too high for a trade this season, I think MB's gonna give his huge biceps some rest, and possibly wait till the summer to give it a swing |
