Yeah, that seemed like a low risk idea. A chance to get a potential top 9 talent for peanuts. - MBFlyerfan

Last night the Flyers leaders all came up small. G, Jake, Couts, Provy all could have been much better.
They could really use JvR going on a scoring streak too.
Myers going through some big time growing pains right now, getting Braun back hopefully will get him some more sheltered minutes.
The break is coming at a good time at least. |

I feel like I am constantly seeing him leave his side in front of the net, resulting in both defenders being on the same side with a man wide open where you would expect Myers to be. |

Not what Im saying at all. And most likely Kovalchuk had an idea who he wanted to play with.
Makes you wonder if the Flyers kicked the tires and didnt see the fit. But I would not be happy if it turned out that the time it would take to waive Stewart prevented them from being able to sign him during the window of availability. Even if Kovalchuk had no desire or intent to sign here. |

That was a really tough loss. Now the Flyers are 10th in the East with CBJ in 9th as they have two more regulation wins.
The Athletic says they now have a 47% chance to make the playoffs. And if they miss out again, I would expect some major personnel changes.

Price played well. It funny how they talked about how he can still steal a game right during the pregame. Flyers did not so much. Happens when your goalie is in over his head. And just the swings of hockey. Dominate for a long series just to have them score immediately. But such is hockey.
Next up. - Peter Richards
He didnt steal the game though. Flyers had 40 shots but not many of them were not high danger. Price had an easy night. JVR alone had 8 shots last night and I would say 6-7 of them were his side of the net short side attempts that hardly ever work. |

Good news are the Isles are declining rapidly. Hopefully CBJ cools off. |

I’m sorry but I would have a chance on a one year deal with Kovy because of the loss of Lindblom alone. Missed opportunity. - SuperSchennBros
Dudes a cancer, hated everywhere. Only played 7 good games. Pitlick and Laughton have similar stats. This team does not need someone who has the ability to put the puck in the net |

Can't worry about that - it's meaningless. They need to focus on playing well and winning when they should and the chips will fall where they fall.

you're using what one person said and acting like everyone agreed with it. multiple people have said they would have at least taken a flyer on kovalchuk when his contract was terminated by the kings.
also, people criticize the team on a daily basis. they just don't seem to enjoy when the team they root for loses the way you do.
read the comments once in a while. |

So tired of this team coming out flat against lesser opponents. Yes, its the NHL and any team can beat you on any given night, but this happens several times every season. We've had stretches where we play very well. That effort easily gets us in the playoffs. Last night, the previous 6-game road trip, other hiccups this year, not so much.
I blame team leadership for the uneven effort. |

Tough break for the Canes. Should help the Flyers.

@RealKyper
Dougie Hamilton suffered a broken fibula last night. Further evaluation today will determine if surgery is needed. Similar injury that shut down Jordan Staal 1/2 season in 2014. |
|
|
|
I think it's a bit premature to fault the Flyers for or any team who didn't go after Kovalchuk.
He's starting off nice, but let's see how he finishes the season. |

Do we have any evidence to support the claim that Flyers "did not go" after him?
It might be just pure speculations on the part of some posters. |

Yeah he was. Sometimes it's about teams staying healthy and overcoming injuries.
An 82 game schedule is a war of attrition. |

I am not surprised they lost. Flyers won on the road against the defending champs. The Habs were terrible and got called out by there coach. Can't win them all. Beat the Kings then get ready for the Pens.
The need at least 42 points in the final 34 games. Not impossible. Myers and Sanheim need to be separated and probably will be when Braun comes back. |
