Does anyone else think G is just going through the motions at this point??What's he done for us?

He just has to use experience points to upgrade his attributes.

I don’t think he has enough to trade yet. Fine, I struggled in how to describe what I think doesn’t need to be a weakness and...I may have flopped on my effort.

The one thing I hated seeing is on the one PP against the Habs, Hayes was along the half wall in the normal spot that Giroux was stationed at in previous seasons and seeing Hayes handling the puck for majority of the time. I'm sorry but that is not Hayes strength. He should be down low or in the slot. He is not a puck distributor and he certainly doesn't have the playmaking skill that Giroux has. It doesn't make any sense.
- MJL

Agreed. Hayes should not be a primary distributor on the powerplay. I just don't like having 3-4 players on there offside when they get the puck. Seems to take away the one timers and down low slam dunks. Makes everything look so deliberate.

If Hayes is staying on the top PP I would like him and JVR to be down low/slot. Run the PP through G and TK. Maybe slide Provorov down into the slot sometimes. He has a good quick wrister.

Really not liking the chemistry between Giroux and Hayes. I think they need to be separated on both the PP and even strength. They're both failing to react to eachother and looking for the other to get open.

I thought the same even earlier in the season when they tried this duo.

My eyes bleed when I read certain posts? Does that count?

In all fairness, I come here for Bill. The comments are for amusement purposes only, and to make sure some of my favorites are still breathing.

No, I'm sorry. Unless you can show a pie chart or at least a graph, your opinion is invalid!

The Flyers beat Washington, Boston, the Blues and lose 1-0 to Tampa, but get the snot beat out of them by a struggling Montreal team. I guess the Flyers really missed Stewart??

Dudes a cancer, hated everywhere. Only played 7 good games. Pitlick and Laughton have similar stats. This team does not need someone who has the ability to put the puck in the net

the fact he has pouted his way off of two teams irks me.

The part about "whats he done for us?"

Plenty of stats for you to go look at to see what he has done for the FLyers.

Well, just looking at this season:

1) Has been instrumental in getting buy-in for Vigneault's system.

2) Has taken on more PK time than originally planned because he's the only RH option on defensive zone draw.

3) While his assists are way down from their norms, is on pace for more goals than last year.

all time Giroux is:

3rd games played
10th goals
2nd assists
4th points
8th GWG

he will go down as an all time great Flyers. its just a shame the Flyers haven't built much around him in his time here outside of the 2010 cup team

It's amazing how much of his career they squandered really. In the past 9 years they've iced good rosters only like 3 or maybe 4 years. Finally building something decent now but time waits for no one.

Youre right. Giroux not playing in his usual spot is bizarre in the first place. Hayes taking his spot as a less talented play maker only adds to frustration. I think AV needs to get over keeping line combos intact during PPs. It's not necessary to find the best PP unit. I would try the following units:

Konecny JVR
Giroux
Provorov Voracek

Aube-Kubel Couturier Hayes
Sanheim Niskanen

I honestly believe we win him his Cup when he slots in at 3rd line winger. That would mean we have enough scoring from the young kids to allow him to be a solid 3rd line player. Hart, D, young scorers, veteran leadership down the line-up...

I like it.
