Well, just looking at this season:

1) Has been instrumental in getting buy-in for Vigneault's system.

2) Has taken on more PK time than originally planned because he's the only RH option on defensive zone draw.

3) While his assists are way down from their norms, is on pace for more goals than last year.

In my opinion, Giroux is being given too many passes on the season he is having. Is Sean Couturier not taking on the same load? How about Provorov? Giroux is having a poor season overall offensively. I personally think some of that is about the PP. I personally think that he not at all comfortable on the right half wall. Knowing the way that he is, he is probably not complaining about it. I don't know why the coaching staff doesn't see what is plainly obvious and change it up. With that being said, there are too many games where Giroux is not a factor in the game offensively.

Does everyone remember the lone Flyers goal in the 2010 Winter classic give credit to Danny Syvret but Jeff Carter clearly tipped it? Well they still bothers me.

An offensive minded coach like peter Laviolette would never allow things to get things this far with Giroux’s struggled on the PP. There are two types of pride. The stubborn and the willingness to change. Giroux should be on the left half wall and it shows because he looks like an instant difference maker when he rotates over there.

Doesn’t seem insulting but more so, like someone who isn’t paying attention. You couldn’t go any lower than last season but the structure seems the same as last season. The only real noticeable difference is Konecny and Provorov has stepped up.

I just remember Hartnell in front of the net driving Tim Thomas nuts, and Syvret scoring.

First time poster. Reader for years. Love Bill's insights and the fans opinions. I'm not a Giroux "as a leader" fan, but now I'm noticing that he is invisible on the ice. I notice Pitlick more than him.

The core needs to be broken up.

I remember being at home with the benefit of reply and watching NBC show the tip in slow motion. In the game today, that goal would be disallowed anyway.

Not gonna sit here and say he’s having a great season but he still makes a poop ton of subtle plays that create scoring chances. It’s just not going in, he had a few grade A chances verse St. Louis , had that bomb from the slot that price made look like light work, set up Laughton on the breakaway verse MTL. G to JVR with the tap to TK almost connected again in MTL, that’s the last two games I’m thinking of. Chances are there, he needs to better tho.

I completely disagree that he is creating a poop ton of scoring chances. That is not happening anywhere near the normal level that we are accustomed to from Giroux. It's not close. He is outside of the top 100 of NHL player in assists.

Giroux is playing incredibly mediocre hockey this year for a guy who is supposed to generate offense and is making as much as he is. No doubt about it. I believe he is on pace for a sub 60 point season. He is currently sitting at 95th in the league in points. That's not going to cut it.
