I dunno, are the sabres soft? Legit question. They don't really have small players. I think they are just bad. If anything most of their forwards are more of checkers than scorers. - matty12345
I'll bite. I don't know if soft is the word, They have some players on the team that can play heavy, Larry, Girgs, Lazar, BOGO but I think this group lacks "Team Toughness" like they don't respect their teammates enough to stand up for them night in and night out when the other team is taking runs.
Its kinda weird to watch some nights.

you dont think quality of line mates factors into scoring? - hubie
Of course it helps, look at Rhino, but you guys act like he wasn't getting chances to score goals during his slump because of his linemates, he was getting those chances, and yes he would have gotten more playing with better players, but again he was still getting good chances. |

For me it is really simple.
Skinner with Jack = 35-40 goals a year
Skinner with competent Center 25-35 goals a year
Skinner with Shatty Center 20-30 goals a year.

Nope, you make anything over 8 Million and you should be able to do it all by yourself. - hehateme
This is stupid, even before he played with Jack, he never really had a very good Center he played with, and he still scored goals. Yes playing with better players would have led to more chances, but even with who he has been playing with this year he was still getting chances. |

So I am siting back thinking of when Kane and ROR where here. I know this is just punishing myself, but could you imagine our first 2 lines were.
Skunk, Jack, Oloffsson
Kane, ROR, Skinner
and we could of fit them all under our cap.
Damn you Murray... |

More Antonio Brown

Responding to this:
"Agent Drew Rosenhaus conditionally terminated his relationship with Antonio Brown today until the free-agent WR seeks counsel, per an NFLPA source. Rosenhaus wrote in the letter that the NFLPA received today that he would like to work with Brown, but not until he first gets help." - adambuffalo

Just curious how you would fit them all under the cap. I would imagine you would have to give Kane an extra million to re-sign. Also, who is playing defense based on not being in position to draft Dahlin? Have you actually worked the numbers or are you just spewing crap to bring up an irrelevant topic? |

He scored 7 goals in the first 16 games playing with Mojo and Sobotka. After that he scored 4 more goals in the next 23 games.
Even though people will continue to bítch about JBotts and/ or Kreuger, prior to injuries that line was our best scoring line and on pace for 62 goals. |

You're right.
The Sabres are not a "bad" team, but they're inconsistent as all (frank). They have the ability to be really good.
Detroit does not have that ability. |

And he played with Rask in Carolina, and still scored goals. He scored more goals this year when Sobotka was on his line. It's called burying your chances when you get them, and he wasn't doing that. |

With the schedule coming up after the All—Star break I expect us to easily get to 88-92 points. With having 2 months of dreadful special teams.
88-92 points is not bad no matter how you slice it |

Nothing wrong with his contract. We overpaid by 1 million. It’s okay to overpay elite talent.
Overpaying average to bad talent is bad. See okposo. - Sabretooth9
Okposo had a higher point per game average his first two years here than Skinner was on pace for this year.
Skinner is not an elite talent. |

Jeff Skinner had 5 less goals than Okposo had points his first season here
GTFOH with that not an elite talent
3rd most even strength goals in the league over the last 4 years or something like that
Behind Ovi and Kane...
But no not elite |
