1. I really like th LA stadium series jerseys. Pitts were hella sick too before.

2. After the asg San Jose is going to let their players choose a goal song for themselves for whenever they score. That’s awesome. (frank) whitey Ford~ Eminem

@Cousins:

Eh I'm not sure I buy that. Sullivan's system is defensively minded in the sense that it focuses on back checking, but it's not super restrictive and the things that make it defensively sound is a lot of aggressive and offensive stuff. When you talk about systems that restrict creative players, you're talking about the stuff that Hitch and AV used to do with playing passive defense and forcing shots outside to shield the goalie. We don't really do that. Our back check is relentless and the forwards remain active as we attempt to take the puck from your lifeless corpse rather than just let you shoot a low percentage shot and then take it back then. That kind of aggression ensures that the puck has a better shot of going up ice and activating the forwards at full speed. Then on offense, rather than stretch passes or dump ins, the system calls for a lot of short, tape to tape passing to move the puck up. Maybe that limits the dipsy doodles that Malkin gets to do, but it breeds overall offensive creativity and fast pace since the puck travels faster on a pass than it does on a skate.

Agreed on most all of your points, especially that Sully's system is more offensive than AVs or Hitch. It's just that there's a stark difference in watching this season versus last, and 81, 71 and 58 were literally all over the place last season, except for that stretch in March when 71 and 58 were out injured. The system came back to the team during that stretch, and in my mind, 2 and 3 are having much better seasons this year. All good !!

They were both drafted 6th round too. Maybe they found another diamond in the rough but for LD this time. Although reading about him he is not a great skater.

Hmmm along that line I could get down with Hellyeah - cowboy way. Nice strong intro since they will only play like 30s of it.

Can’t wait for people to start unironically analyzing how this guy can make an impact with the big club. Happens every time we make an AHL trade.

Nice. I think I would either go with something heavy or something stupid. Like I score and the spongebob theme song starts playing.

I'd probably go with Battery by Metallica. Seems like a Tanev song.

Oh sorry, I didn’t know we weren't suppose to discuss the future of the hockey team. Or is it that you only like to regurgitate “expert”
analysts information instead of looking something up and discussing it. What does Pierre McGuire say about this young chap?

Still remember the over analysis of Bigs as a potential hidden gem of the Kessel trade. People just don’t get that sometimes just because a player is young-ish doesn’t mean that they’re a legitimate prospect.

Again, but to be fair its all a crapshoot.

Even basing stuff on analytics there was a point in time RW had a blog about trading Dumoulin for Ty Rattie who was lighting up the AHL. And then there are guys like Anthony Duclair who come out of semi-nowhere. Then there are guys like Yakupov who never figure it out.

But to your point, by the time most players are 24-25 we know what they are.

Goal songs -
for irony - Helmet - Just Another Victim
for entertainment - Gojira - The Gift of Guilt
for sheer annoyingness - The Collapsable Hearts Band - Easy Street [that would annoy the opposition so much!]
