So you want to spend over $10M on the Pens goaltending?
- Rinosaur

Valid question. As you know MM's number will be very sensitive to term, and with Jarry some bridge would make sense... maybe GMJR can get both for ~8.5M still (MM 5.5, Jarry 3), which would mean slightly above ~10% of cap of which i would be more than ok with. When you compare Jarry to Binnington with the cup tax in mind, i think 3.x is realistic, and i wouldn't pay MM much more than 5.

Has there been a single clean breakout?

While you wouldn't pay MM more than $5M, he will get much more than $5M. I'll be shocked if he gets anything less than $6.5M. Jarry at $3M? Totally possible. I'd peg him between $3 to $3.5M.

Yes. Just not many. DET has the edge on quality chances.

It's like they're getting in their own heads or some poop...which would be inexcusable after the run they've had. That can't be it.

That old fart on the Wings broadcast. Yeah, I know he's a legend in the industry, but he's the worst homer broadcaster I've ever heard.
- Rinosaur

He’s not a homer. He’s just awful.

It's both. He's a total homer. He does the homer bullpoop when a Wing commits some kind of infraction it's nothing, but when a Penguin does something it's really bad. Stupid crap like that.

All feeds do that by nature. By him sucking at his job it just makes it seem worse. I never watch the Detroit feed because it is bottom 3 in the league. Is there a commentator lottery?

It’s weird. Like they can’t even complete a pass right now

I watch lots of teams and there are plenty who are impartial when it comes to this stuff while still pulling for their guys.

Yeah, the Pens tanked for years with Steiggy and now we have Mears. Not a 1st overall, but he's a solid top 15 first rounder.

Seems to me the collective pressure falls off when sid comes back and a slight relaxation of effort and focus took place. That first game was so easy with sid and geno taking over. Its prob just natural to ease off a bit...but that will kill this team. Defence and backup goaltending is not good enough for relaxed efforts.

It's just always amazing to me that the Penguins can shred quality goalies, but make mediocre and rookie goalies look like Vezina candidates.

I was thinking that last game but tonight it looks like they’ve never played together before.

Here's what I do if I'm Sullivan...

Kahun-Sid-Simon
Blueger-Geno-Rust
Galch-McCann-Horn
ZAR-Aggozino-Tanev

That third line is just ghostly. They need McCann back at C to help that line.

I've actually been thinking he's refreshing compared to some of the ones I've listened to recently.

Penguins (sid geno era) have often taken crappy opponents for granted as well.
