Basically 30 games (+possible playoffs) of JGP for Tree's rights + MDP + 3rd. I wouldn't do it as I don't see JGP as being the difference between making/missing the playoffs, others may disagree.

It's possible Leivo comes back for games in March -- knocked out 2-3 months at the end of Dec with a fractured kneecap), that would give Ottawa even more value. Also possible he is gone for the season.

Leivo ($1.5M) and JGP ($3.1M) are both UFA at the end of the season.

On JGP as a UFA he would have to understand he has a much better team here & his new contract would be team friendly. It would also require other player movement. Schaller is gone. Buyouts are an option. Stetcher could price himself out of here. Tanev I’d think would do a team discount for sure. In the end it comes down to if JGP can do well on the PK & help AG find the next gear. That alone would be my hope. Cap management would be the big task for JB.

On that note much depends on if JGP resigns & how much & term will affect what goes the other way.

I don't think Canucks have interest in Pageau. They could want a guy like Palmeri who has term and toughness but I see he is injured too.

My thinking is a more responsible wing man for AG & help out on the dot. Pageau for me is just that & allows Roussel to be a 4th liner when needed.

Come the PO push or tweaks contenders generally look for 3C depth or top 4 D or D depth. Top 6 winger seems to a league wide need all season. These reasons motivate my trader mentality. If no trades all good.
