There is a chance we finish with close to 90 this year. We have the next 9/10 at home, the march to 12th is beginning.
Botts needs to find an adequate side kick to pair with Ullmark, and find a capable Center to play behind Jack and we are off to the races.
As gloomy as things are right now, we are not as far as some people think.
We are one of the best defensive teams in the NHL that has goaltending giving up more goals then expected. Replace Hutton’s 16 starts with a goalie that doesn’t throw up all over himself and we are competing for the last playoff spot this year with a 3LW playing 2C. |

No, I don’t, because this is the first offseason he has actual capital to move, and he knows he can’t just throw Mitts and Cozens out there again.
Again, he’s already made every type of trade there is. I don’t think he’s going to bandaid the 2C spot again. I think he’s learned it’s possible Mitts is just a bust - sbroads24
Crooked Broadary,
You were so right when you said this team is actually really good. You effin nailed it!!!! They salvaged a 5 and 5 record over their last 10 since. Can you say playoffs?
You were right when you said God Damn our GM's good. He is awesome.
Hey Crooked Broadary,
One last question, do you think the Sabres were hurt in the standings by Eichel being shelved the first two months and Kane missing the first month of the 16/17 season? I just think it would be good to get you on record. Just so we know where you stand when you try to use this to spin how dreamy Botterill actually is at the end of this season. I mean GMTM left the team nowhere to go, but i'm sure you'll claim the Sabres missed the playoffs because Skinner and Goalofsson got hurt.
Impeach Trump too while you're at it. Can't wait to vote for Pocahontas. Aint that right Crooked Broadary?

Unfortunately we are who we are as long as we stick with the same players. Its all ready all most Feb and we are what 10 points out with like 4 teams to leap in front of all with better players. I see us finishing with 80-85 points going basically .500 the rest of the way in.
We have a lot of dead weight coming off the books and a ton of cap space to fix our issues. If we don't improve over the summer poop can botts before November next year.

I'm not into the doom and gloom right now. This team is better and the system is better. That said, I don't think there's enough help coming internally next year. Even if they nail the off season, it will still lack depth. |

I'll go on record as saying I liked a lot of Botts moves and they haven't panned out. Bummer. That doesn't mean Murray was any good at his job. He didn't get a raw deal even if his successor is a putz. He sucked at his job by evidence that he still doesn't have a job in the NHL 3 years later even with his last name propping him up and all his ties. That says something. So now that I've admitted that I was wrong about Botts, time for the 3ER to admit he was wrong as well. I mean, you're not always right which means that you are in fact wrong.

GMTM wanted the team to stop acting like entitled babies AND wanted Bylsma to be more connected with the players. He was fired because he wouldn't fire Bylsma. 3ER has reason to believe GMTM was right all along. Would ROR still be here? I don't know, they certainly would have more to show for than Super Sniper Tage Thompson if he wasn't. The putz we got now has no clue. GMTM gets paid more by Pegula to stay unemployed than he would by any other team.
Well done SD. Glad you are willing to admit what is actually right than continue to spin a false narrative. I'm tired of the rhetoric from the rest of the Supreme Botts Apologists around here. |

Problem with what you said about his payment isn't mutually exclusive. He doesn't not get paid by the Sabres if he takes another job. He doesn't have another job because he was terrible here. Had he built a pipeline he might still be here. Instead he built a train wreck here and a train wreck in Roch. He had one pick that worked out outside of Rienhart and Eichel in VO. For someone who's specialty was a scout, he was terrible at drafting. The ROR deal was bad, but at least Botts saved a little face with the Joker for Nylander deal. I honestly don't care that the reason he was fired was because he wouldn't can bylsma. He should have, he was terrible. In the end, he got what he deserved, which was getting fired. Botts may have the same fate if it doesn't change and change quickly. |

the one thing the sabres have to get this off season is at the very least
a proven third line center with second line upside
if casey and cozens struggle, as a center, you can't throw away the season like this one
convert a center to the wing if needed, but please no more wingers as a middle 6 center |
